Excellent Dressings For Wounds, Even For Knees!
These are excellent dressing bandages. The center is 4โx4โ and the sticky part makes the bandage a total 6โx6โ. I have an infection in my knee replacement, but with Coronavirus, there is no way I am going to the hospital Wound Care. I have home health nurses and I am a nurse myself. The nurses come once a week and they initially ordered these for me. I originally made an appointment at my local hospitalโs wound care center and right before I was supposed to go there, Covid19 started and I changed my mind. I never considered that Amazon would have the same dressings as the Medical Supply Centers have and I am sure they are MUCH cheaper here on Amazon!!! I have quite a bit of drainage and I would be changing the dressing very often, so what I do is put a bunch of 4โx4โ gauze squares over wound area and put the dressing on top of that, so I get a longer amount of time between dressing changes. If you do not have a lot of drainage, you wonโt need to do that. The bandage stays put and comes off without tearing of the skin. Sometimes, where the adhesive part is on the skin might become itchy. If that happens your doctor should be notified. As a nurse, I have used many dressings and would definitely give these an A Plus!

A nice product
A nice product and the same thing used by my home health nurse. Not exactly great if you have sensitive skin, the adhesive is constantly leaving irritation. Also it is not very breathable, which sounds like a good thing until you have to put it in a place that gets hot and sweaty and you start having yeast grow around your wound. I'm applying RX Nystatin powder EVERY change to combat the irritation and the yeast. I also have a hard time keeping mine on if I get even the slightest bit sweaty in the night or something...the adhesive edges lift off and wound juice goes everywhere. I've got tons of gauze packed into my wound underneath this dressing and have to also tape it down with retention tape to have a hope of making it between changes without icky stuff coming out all over the sheets or my clothes. Granted, I presently have such a serious wound infection that I have to go in for a corrective surgery...so I'm not sure how much of my problems are THAT and how much of them are the quality of the bordered gauze. I would recommend only buying one box of these until you're sure they'll be good for you. Needless to say, I'm on my 4th box so I'm obviously still buying them even with my complications.

Good Substitute for Mepilex (w/caveat)
I had been using the Mepilex 6"x6" bandages with great results. However, they are a bit pricey (about $7 ea.). So, on a whim, I ordered these to see how they'd stack up. I find them to be a GREAT substitute! Especially for the price (about $1.20 ea) . They easily last the duration of my daily changes. Based on my personal observations and opinion, this is just as good as Mepilex except that Mepilex: 1. Absorbs more (better if your wound is draining); 2. Offers slightly better padding/cushioning; 3. Is more water resistant (they don't soak through as quick when showering). NOTE: You need to change either bandage after showing as they will be soaked through.

Not good for people with sensitive skin
Wouldn't recommend at all for people with sensitive skin. I got a very bad itchy rash from this bordered gauze. I even tried to cut the tape border and used another hypoallergenic tape to secure it in place, but I still got a rash.

Great quality cloth-tape dressing
Feels like great quality. Easy to open packaging, all bandages were intact. Absorbs well and the adhesive sticks well to skin.
