Review: Excellent introduction to the most used Turkish words - I have found learning Turkish a real challenge as it has a different alphabet and sentence construction. This book is an excellent introduction to the most common used words and gives examples of them in sentences so that you can see how they are constructed. The Turkish people love to hear you try at using their language so this is a great resource. Highly recommended. Review: Core vocabulary covered. - I thought that the book was a good introduction to the core vocabulary of Turkish and will be very helpful. 2000 words is a good size for a beginner's dictionary, about as much as required for normal use.

Still very good book, though really less than the 2000.
I supposed I will learn 2000 specific Turkish words, but I found, that between 2000 most commonly words in Turkish language are those like: Turkey, Allah or Ankara! - such words (and other features) make the book less interesting than it is advertised in the book's title "2000 words". However, the book is very good if you wish to know the most important vocaburary of Turkish language. Very good is, too, that the 2000 words are explained in context by their usage in sentences and translated to English.

Extensive but too complicated
A few of the sentences in the book make little sense in any language. Some sentences are too complicated, coping with grammar and new vocabulary at the same time isn't ideal. The sound track runs for 14 hours, half the time it's in English so 7 hours of wasted time there. A moderately useful resource overall.

Very useful
The best thing about this book is the fact that by learning these 2000 words I will have covered almost 93% of the words used in everyday speech - just what I needed!

A good start for beginners
This is great to get you started in Turkish. Any letters that sound different in Turkish, or that aren't in the English alphabet are explained at the beginning. Then it is followed by the 2000 Turkish words put into sentences and then translated into English. :)

Complete rubbish.
Bought this book as the description seemed what I was looking for, a reference to learning basic Turkish. No it’s not that type of book, apart from two sides of alphabet and numbers (useful) the rest of the pages are full of random phrases with no real index for reference. Just random all over the place conversation full of useless terms. Don’t waste your money, complete rubbish for beginners.

Useful
This is useful for beginners to learn words in context. As the words are in sentences you can see how to use them. Turkish word order is very different from English so just merely knowing words will not help you advance in this language.

I speak Turkish and Russian and wanted to order this to teach my kids. It is an excellent companion to the book Turkish Delights. The font is very large and, therefore, today I ordered a similar book by Lingo Mastery for Russian also. Thanks!

I am grateful this lexicon has been given to me for examination. I thought it is very useful for advanced beginners of the language to get very good additionnal examples of vocabulary workds in context, which is a lot better than only isolated word lists. Besides, you are sure to find the most high frequency words listed. A must have for any serious learner.
