You can use any liquid soap your heart desires. Please keep in mind though that the container is a completely smooth surface, so there is no textured surface available for the brushes to create a friction with to get them completely clean.

Does this item come with the soap cleaner?

Mine came with a bottle of make up brush shampoo.
