I know Jason both professionally & personally. He's a true genuine individual in all entities of life. I'm blessed to call him friend. His heart, grit, tenacity, authenticity, faith & Christ-like example in all of his life's endeavors is like none other. He can make you laugh til you cry, cry til you laugh, he can sing the phone book & captivate audiences in all realms. I would read anything he writes, watch any & all stage performances in person & virtually, know his heart with & without a beard, & trust him w every word he says, every prayer he lifts & every heart he touches. The Promise to the One is an excellent and inspiring book on the fundamentals of character and integrity. It's an applied book - taught primarily though stories and anecdotes, with questions and opportunities to apply the principles to your life.The author (also the Audible narrator) is an accomplished speaker and former entertainer. I've been fortunate to see his live keynote before, and thus was interested in this book.The various stories used as illustrations include an artist walking away from a multi-million dollar performance contract in Vegas because it would violate his personal ethics; the harrowing experience of being shot at in a Chinook helicopter while giving his time to perform for troops overseas; and the touching simplicity of quiet acts of service for a neighbor, like shoveling snow when no one will notice.Most of all, I felt that this book helped me to look inward at what my personal brand is - my integrity - what Hewlett calls the Promise. I enjoyed both the paperback book and the Audible version, as I wanted to hear the author tell the stories in his trademark humor and sincerity that I remembered from his stage keynote.An entertaining, inspiring, and spiritually edifying read/listen. Highly recommend!

I bought this eBook to read on an upcoming trip. I was curious, so when I downloaded it to my iPad I thought I'd just read a couple pages to get the gist. I could not stop reading. I've never had that happen :)I've seen Jason speak professionally at events many times throughout my career. He has had a phenomenal reputation in the speaking industry forever, both for who he is on stage and off stage. For me, reading this book was a chance to pull back the curtain of someone who lives life on a different level, and get a chance to see what makes him tick... not in a traditional self-help / cheesy way like learning his 101 secrets for success or his 27 tips for building wealth or whatever. This was REAL. "The Promise to the One" is honest and vulnerable. It's gripping. It's much higher-level, much deeper, and much more impactful than any of the other types of motivational books I've ever read... and I've read a LOT of them! We're talking "move the needle on who you are and who you want to become" level of impactful.This book makes you want to become a better person at your core. And bonus: it's funny and engaging too :) Highly recommended.

I was given the audiobook of 'The Promise to the One' as a gift. As I listened and could identify with many struggles the author would reference that were also struggles for me. I knew I needed a course change, but kept falling back into patterns of old behaviors after a few weeks or months. After only a few minutes into his book, I was so inspired to change, I knew I needed to buy the hard-copy so I could highlight and more easily make definitive goals on paper.I am buying a copy for each of my adult children and we will be having some family discussions on the great stories and experiences Jason wrote about that really struck chords with me. It really ranks up there with the greats!!!And, bonus...listening to the book with the author doing the narrating himself is worth it!!! He's funny, he's talented, and his impressions as he reads really make it worth the listen!

I enjoyed this book very much. It's sincere, wise and warm-hearted in the sharing of life skills that can make all the difference in success and happiness throughout a lifetime.
