Great Tasting Chocolate Cake With Cream Filling
Drake's Ring Dings are always good. The cake is nice and moist, the chocolate frosting is so chocolaty, and the cream filling gives it that extra great taste. As Drake's used to advertise, "Ring Dings are better than anything." So true.

Drake's cakes Rule!
The Drake's Ring Ding, introduced in 1958, is the original and by far the best hockey puck-shaped chocolate covered cream filled chocolate cake. Hostess introduced their vastly inferior imitation, the ding dong, in 1967, and through sheer volume of marketing combined with gullibility or nonchalance of consumers, it still persists. Every Drakes product is the original and far superior version - including Yodels (Drakes 1962 - badly copied by Hostess as Ho Hos in 1967), Funny Bones, Devil Dogs, Yankee Doodles, Coffee Cakes, and mini Fruit Pies. I do miss the original full size Ring Ding, which was much larger - about 5 inches wide and 1 1/2 inches thick, sold wrapped in a silver foil wrapper with blue print throughout the 60s. But in the late 60s they came out with the Ring Ding Jr., which were about the size of today's Ring Dings, and were sold in pairs, each wrapped in a gold foil wrapper with blue print. Within about 10 years the full size Ring Dings were gone.

I LOVE ME SOME RING DINGS
As a child back in my days RING DINGS were always my favorite cake/snacks. I loved them then and DEFINITELY love them NOW. I purchased 3 boxes of 10 but I put the other 2 boxes in the freezer and saving them so when spring or summer comes I'll have something to eat plus I don't want to be too greedy and I did share with my 8 yrs old grandson.

Tastes like the ringding I remember.
It was the same ring dings of my youth. It was outrageously too expensive, but it was a surprise for my husband. BTW, he shared the 1 ring ding. 😏😉
