Why is a pre-filter beneficial to use?

FILTERWEARS pre-filters reduce maintenance, extend filter life, and keep debris, dirt, and water out. They block particles over .005", resist punctures, repel water, handle up to 450°F, and install easily.

Is it possible to use aftermarket water repellent solutions?

No. The hydrophobic treatment cannot be replicated with sprays. Aftermarket solutions can clog micron openings, restricting airflow and reducing horsepower and fuel efficiency.

What is the life expectancy of a pre-filter?

Replace every 6,000–12,000 miles. While still intact, water-repellent performance decreases over time. Lifespan depends on riding conditions and usage.

Do pre-filters reduce airflow and horsepower?

No significant loss. The polyester mesh maintains airflow while protecting the filter, helping preserve horsepower and overall engine performance.

Do pre-filters prevent water ingestion?

They help reduce water entry. The hydrophobic treatment repels water in rain, mud, and puddles, but they are water-resistant, not fully waterproof.
