I lost my mother to pancreatic cancer, and during her final days in hospice, my aunt was there every step of the way, providing comfort and support for both my mom and me. To show my appreciation and gratitude, I decided to gift her the Willow Tree Chrysalis figurine. The message of "Protect and cherish; give wings to fly" really resonated with me, as my mom always felt like she was my aunt's protector, but in the end, the roles reversed, and my aunt became my mom's protector. When I gave her the figurine, my aunt was moved to tears - she loved it! The figurine is beautifully crafted, and the sentiment behind it is so touching. Every year for many years, I’ve bought my mother a Willow Tree ornament or sculptured figure for Christmas. They’re usually angels and have the year on them. She really loves angel figurines, and the piano is covered in them! :) This year, the ornament just looked weird to me. But I saw this, and it reminded me of the relationship we have had—it was two adults, and I just immediately thought of her when I saw it. All we’ve been through and how much I love her. She finally got to have a surgery she’s needed for a LONG time, and I bought this while she was still in the hospital. It’s so much more beautiful in person! Very heavy, though. She had a horrible time after her surgery, and another one was done. I gave her some of her gifts before Christmas, like a super soft blanket, since she was always cold and didn’t have one that was thick. And I gave her this…which she loved! She went on and on about how beautiful it was. Unfortunately, she died on January 6, but I am so happy that she and I enjoyed some time together, and something I got her helped take her mind off of the pain she had. I’m going to keep it in my bedroom and think of her.

This was for my only sister left and it signified being sisters and also the emotion of I'm there for you. It was double duty. Love as a sister and comfort for her loss of her husband of 57 years.

Let me say I am not into art and 100% a math science person, but something about these figures has moved me. Their craftsmanship really capture a moment in time between a mother and a daughter. I have gifted two to my teenage daughter and she loves them too. She keeps them on her night stand along with some driftwood we found on the beach. They are so neutral and quietly blend into the surrounding/decor in a room. Glad I found them as a meaningful gift.

I met my friend in nursing school. We became fast friends. She moved to the same town as me. As the years went on I so often leaned on her for the best of times and the saddest of times. Two years ago our son died. So very often she cradled me in her arms and allowed me to mourn and grieve. This Willow Tree of 2 women hugging symbolizes our everlasting friendship. She has moved away to start another journey. We both cried when she opened this beautiful gift. It was perfect.
