Why so many dumb reviews on this awesome product?
I'm not one for writing reviews but after almost being dissuaded from purchasing this product by reading a slew of dumb reviews (like who decides to bake a potato in a rice cooker or who is confused at reading the simple instructions?) I decided to write one in the hopes that you will find this and this will help you make a decision whether to purchase or to not. I'm a simple guy who is terrible at cooking rice and has to feed a family of 6 regularly (not including the occasional guest that pops in unexpectedly). This rice cooker is awesome and I question why I waited so long to buy one. Sure, you could get a better one by dropping a couple hundred bucks on a fancy model but for what this does, it does it well. It takes about 35 minutes to cook rice for that many people. Yes, you can cook it faster by doing it the old fashioned way, but I find it very convenient to put the rice on first and just forget about it while I'm cooking the rest of the food. It makes juggling the stove much easier and frees up a burner slot so I could cook something else instead of micro-managing rice. The cup provided with the rice cooker is 3/4 the size of a regular cup of rice but even still one cup per person is more than enough. Put your rice in in and then fill the conveniently marked bowel with water up to the number of cups you used. For example, place 6 cups of rice and then fill with water up to the "6" marked line on the inside of the bowel. Easy-peasy. You DO have to rinse your rice off before you start the cooker to get rid of extra starch but this process only takes a minute or less and you don't need special tools or anything. I just put in the rice, add a bit of water, swirl it around, carefully drain the water out (the water will turn milky white), and literally rinse and repeat until the water is more or less clear upon draining. The rice comes out fluffy and great with nothing burned on the bottom of the pot. I've also cooked other things in the rice cooker as well like a beef stew and chili. Each time I cut up the meat, tossed it in, chopped up veggies, added water and spices, closed the lid and hit the "slow cooker" option. It says it will take 7 hours but a pot roast (cut into 3-5 inch cubes) only took about 4 hours to cook and the meat was just falling apart. SO GOOOOD! The instructions are simple and whenever you use this rice cooker please use the cup provided for easy measuring. Other than that it was worked great, cleans super easy, easy to operate, and does what it's supposed to do. You won't be disappointed. Hope this review helps! Also, feel free to ask me some questions if you have any. I'm no scientist but I might be able to help as well.

Why The Hate? Its Sublime! Cooks Perfect Jasmine Rice For Me EVERY Time~
I really don't get it...Despite its 4.5 star reviews I've seen so many conflicting reviews about this product, and even worse when I asked questions I got horrifying responses back! Such as "its garbage," "don't buy it!" which is surprising in and of itself. Regardless, I decided to take a leap of faith with this and...it totally paid off! I absolutely LOVE it! First off, I'm a senior university student living on my own in a shared house and as far as everything goes we share nothing here. To lighten the load on my stunning pots/pans set and the stove that all of us have to share I decided that I needed a rice cooker. Now I'm totally not ready to drop $100 on a cooker yet, and so not only quality was significant for me, but price as well. This product appealed to me not only because of the price and the brand, but because its not only a rice cooker! So, so far I have not utilized any of the other functions this lovely product provides but its rice-cooking function, but for me that function alone is good enough for me~ I'll note that it came with everything that it was supposed to - a steam tray, inner pot, rice spoon thing, and measuring cup. The product did not appear to be damaged and when I plugged it in it was functional and displaying how it should be. Now I'm not sure why there are so many disparaging answers and reviews on this awesome rice cooker. So far I have utilized it several times and each batch of jasmine rice I make in it has come out absolutely perfect! I'm just going to assume that its all mostly user-error, with the occasional rare blip in a product that was sent out faulty, because this lovely cooker DOES come with an instruction book that is extremely clear-cut and easy to read and follow. All I did was read the instructions carefully first, then re-read them again when I decided to start cooking rice with it! First it gives you detailed instructions on cleaning it - which seemed very important (so if I were you I would not skip this first step), though before you use just about anything I think you should clean it anyway. Then when you're ready to get cooking it tells you to rinse your rice out as well - another important step I made sure not to miss. I used a strainer specifically made for rinsing rice to make sure all the starchy, cloudy water is absconded from the rice before following the rest of the steps and filling the black inner chamber. Though the cup you receive does not seem traditional (its 3/4) that does not matter. Utilize it and nothing else and just fill the rice up to the 3/4 line - that's a cup. Since I am cooking for one person I usually just do the minimum 2 cups of rice and store the leftovers in the fridge. The inner chamber has measurement lines and you just fill it up EXACTLY to the numbered line that corresponds with how many cups of rice you are doing. For example, if you are doing 2 cups of rice like how I do then you would fill the pot up to the second line. So far I've utilized this cooker several times since getting it and each time I've gotten a perfect, aromatic, and delicious, fluffy batch of white jasmine rice! You could say that I got this cooker specifically for cooking jasmine rice, since the rice can be trickier to cook over a stove and I wanted something frustration-free and this cooker is it. So if you are looking for something that is versatile and can cook different types of rice then I can confidently say that this is it! As I pointed out earlier I haven't utilized the slow-cooker feature or the steam feature, but I may utilize the former sometime in the future and when I do I'll be sure to update my review; however, I have no doubts that I'd have any issues with the slow cooking feature since its rice cooking feature is immaculate. My entire point is that following instructions is crucial. they put those in to help you and to make sure you are getting the proper results that you are supposed to from their product. Some people don't realize that a lot of times it is not the product's fault, but the user's. This wonderful cooker definitely deserves its 5 stars and this college student is very satisfied. And for $37 you really are getting a bang for your buck in my opinion. So please do not listen to all of the pessimism - get this if you are considering it. I promise you will not be disappointed! (But please follow the directions exactly to ensure optimal results).

This is my new best friend.
First of all - WOW! I've never owned a rice cooker, I've always just cooked it on the stove top. I have also never owned a steamer. This is now my best friend - it is so easy to use and makes incredibly good tasting food. I have a 3 year old who really is not into veggies except corn and carrots, so I literally use this thing EVERY SINGLE DAY. It automatically knows how long to cook the rice for, all you have to do is specify if it is brown or white rice. It steams your veggies AND CAN COOK RICE AT THE SAME TIME. And the best part - YOU CAN EVEN USE IT AS A SLOW COOKER! I broke up with my old slow cooker as soon as I received this one - it is literally 3 products in one, a steamer, a rice cooker, and a slow cooker. It is by far the best kitchen appliance I have ever had in my life. My fiancé grew up eating rice all the time, and he still loves it quite a few times a week. So, in the few weeks that I have had this product, I have gotten so much use out of it! This is how I make the rice, and it is so incredibly simple: Step 1: Plug it in Step 2: Add a few cups of the rice (with the cup that was included!) Step 3: Fill water up to the line that corresponds with how many cups of rice you put in. Step 4: Press the "white rice" or "brown rice" button. Step 5: Sit back, relax, and wait for it to beep! thats literally it! It is so easy to use, and so user friendly! As for steaming veggies, you literally put some water in the bottom, put the veggies on the steam tray, and hit the "steam" button. It does ALLLLL of the work for you! This product has seriously changed my life. Making dinner is not as annoying as it used to be. I truly love feeding my family and I love that this product has helped me to do so. I love that the rice and veggies practically cooks itself while I can focus on the main dish. My whole kitchen is stainless steel and black, so this item fits in really well with everything else. It is not too big, but not too small, and looks really nice on my counter when I am using it. It came with a rice server and a cup, as well as a steamer tray and an inner pot. I expect to get a ton of life out of this product. Anyways, I hope that my review has helped you, I hope that you purchase this product, and I hope that you love it just as much as me and my family do!

Excellent value and quality, some improvements could be made
I've had this rice cooker for a few months, so I thought it was time to leave a review. I am someone who uses the rice cooker almost daily, and it is still working really well. I have used the steam tray a few times while cooking rice, but I have not used the slow cooker feature yet. All pictures were taken after 2 months of use. Things I love: - Cooking white rice takes about 30-45 minutes. There will be a countdown timer when there are 10 minutes left. - The delay timer is convenient and prevents me from forgetting to cook the rice. *Note that setting the delay timer means it will be ready at the end of that time (for example, setting a delay timer at 4pm for 2 hours means the rice will finish cooking at 6pm. No extra math needed!). - It will tell you how long you've kept the rice on the "keep warm" function (in hours). - It's easy to clean. The lid can be wiped down, and the steam cap can be removed. There is also a removable tray to catch the condensation after you open the lid. - As long as you don't use any metal instruments, the pot doesn't scratch. Things I think could be improved: - If you leave the rice on "keep warm", the bottom of the rice gets brown after 45 minutes to an hour. It's not a huge issue for me, but I know people like to keep their rice warm for long periods of time. - After cooking rice, when you open the lid, the amount of condensation floods the area around the pot and actually flows outside of the rice cooker. I also feel like the water doesn't drain fast enough into the removable tray. I sometimes have to tilt the rice cooker back for it to drain quicker. - A lot of water collects in the rubber flap on the lid, so you either have to wipe it down after use, or leave the lid open for it to dry after cooking. Things I don't like: - The steam tray is made of really flimsy plastic. It works well and is easy to use (you can steam while cooking rice), but after I steamed carrots, the tray was dyed orange. After some thorough washing, there was still a yellow tinge left on the white plastic. Conclusion: Ideally, I'd give this rice cooker 4.5 stars. I highly recommend this rice cooker. It's such a great value for the price. I don't think you need to pay an exorbitant amount of money to get a good quality rice cooker. I am someone who only cooks white rice, and from time to time, steams vegetables. Hopefully this rice cooker will last a long time. I will be back to edit if anything changes.

The Aroma Housewares 20 Cup Digital Rice Cooker, Slow Cooker, and Food Steamer (ARC-150SB) has proven to be a versatile and reliable addition to my kitchen, earning a solid four-star rating. The generous capacity of 20 cups cooked (10 cups uncooked) makes it a fantastic option for families or those who frequently prepare large batches of rice. The ability to effortlessly transition between rice cooking, slow cooking, and food steaming adds a commendable level of versatility to this appliance. The digital interface is user-friendly, providing convenient control over cooking settings and allowing for precise adjustments. The inclusion of a delay timer has been particularly handy, allowing me to plan meals ahead and have them ready when needed. The stainless steel exterior not only adds a sleek and modern aesthetic to the kitchen but also ensures durability. The construction feels sturdy, instilling confidence in the longevity of the appliance. One standout feature is the efficiency of the rice cooking function. The rice consistently turns out fluffy and perfectly cooked, and the appliance handles different types of rice with ease. The additional functions, such as slow cooking and food steaming, broaden the appliance's utility. Being able to prepare an entire meal with one appliance is a significant time-saver. While the digital interface is generally user-friendly, the manual could be more detailed, especially for those who are new to multi-functional rice cookers. A more comprehensive guide would enhance the user experience for beginners. Cleanup is straightforward, thanks to the removable, non-stick inner pot. However, it's worth noting that being cautious with utensils to avoid scratching the non-stick coating is essential for maintaining its longevity. In conclusion, the Aroma Housewares 20 Cup Digital Rice Cooker, Slow Cooker, and Food Steamer (ARC-150SB) is a reliable kitchen companion. Its versatility, capacity, and user-friendly digital interface make it a valuable addition for those seeking a multifunctional appliance. With its solid performance in rice cooking and additional functionalities, it has earned its place as a go-to kitchen workhorse, receiving a commendable four-star rating.

Workhorse rice cooker
I’ve had this rice cooker for almost 8 years now and this thing is a workhorse, I’ve had zero issues and it just keeps on cooking rice perfectly time and time again. It’s big but expected for 20 cups. Easy to clean.

Excellent rice cooker for cooking any sort of rice. Just make sure you wash the rice.
This rice cooker works great. It is very easy to use and has all of the functionality I could ever need in a rice cooker. The times on this cooker are long enough that if you do not wash the rice thoroughly (I top the rice with water and swish it around with my hand to clean it, 4 times, emptying the cloudy white water each time) it will burn or become hard on the bottom. I cook parboiled rice in this rice cooker using the WHITE RICE option. The brown rice option is the wrong way to go, it will crisp on the bottom. Dimensions are confirmed as advertised. I usually cook 2-4 cups(the cup that comes with the cooker) of rice at a time and it takes 40-60 minutes. Sometimes as low as 30 minutes for a cup or two of basic white rice. This rice cooker does sticky rice very well as long as you wash it properly. Waiting 60 minutes for 4 cups of parboiled rice can be kind of annoying at times, but it can be planned around if you think ahead. I have not gotten to use the steamer insert a whole lot, but when I have it has worked great. It is an awesome piece of additional functionality that I really like. Nothing beats steamed veggies nutritionally. Included: -Rice cooker -steamer insert -Rice measuring cup -Manual with listed cook times Pros: *Well washed rice comes out great *Many different settings for several types of rice *Awesome steamer attachment Cons: *Cook times can be a bit long sometimes(-1/2 a star) Additional Considerations: Just be aware that the "cups" are not actual measurement cups. It is a custom cup sent with the product that is around 3/4 or 7/8 of a cup. Overall: 4.5/5 stars (>=.5 rounds up, <.5 rounds down) => 5 stars If you have any further questions regarding the product in my review please leave a comment below and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

Totalmente recomendado.

COOKS PERFECT RICE!!
I bought this rice cooker a couple months ago, and so far it cooks excellent white and brown rice! I am Asian and we pretty much cook rice everyday. I have tried white jasmine rice and white basmati rice and the texture comes out perfect all the time, with or without the delay setting. I have also tried brown jasmine rice and red cargo rice and they also turn out with perfect results. The rice is soft, tender, fluffy and grains are separate. I do find better results when you SOAK the rice for at least 30 mins. before starting to cook, or use the delay timer. Even if you don't, there is minimal browning on the bottom. I think the trick is to RINSE the rice thoroughly until the water runs pretty much clear. The more starch you remove from the rice, the less browning on the bottom you will have. When I wash the rice really well, there is no browning at the bottom at all. I think maybe if you keep the rice too long on the "warm" setting, this might cause some browning because I'm not too sure how hot the temp of the bottom plate gets that keeps the rice warm for hours. I have followed the instructions from the manual to the "T" for how many cups of rice to put and where to fill the water line. I have never had any problems with spills or overflowing water whether I'm cooking white or brown rice. So far, I have cooked as much as 6 cups uncooked rice with no mess. As for cleaning, like some other reviewers, I usually use a paper towel. I do remove the black knob above the inside of the lid each time I cook rice and the clear water catcher and wash those with soap and water. I have young kids, so I find baby wash cloths do a great job at wiping the inside of the lid as well. The inner rice container washes easily with soap and water, or I suppose you could also put it in your dish washer. Overall, having used this product for 2 months, just about everyday, it works like more expensive brands/models for a fraction of the price. I am still in disbelief how cheap it is for stainless steel, fuzzy logic technology and with how well it cooks rice. I haven't tried steaming or slow cooking in it yet, so I will add to my comment when I do. I anticipate those functions to work great since the "main" function of this product cooks amazing rice!
