GRE Math Workbook (Kaplan Test Prep)

Worth the money!
I am the first to admit that I am, and always have been, terrible at math. When it came time to take the GRE, I gave myself several months of preparation so I could actually learn the tested math concepts. This is a really great book, and I immediately ditched the other math book I'd purchased. This breaks down each topic and gives 30 problems on each, ranging them from basic to advanced. I really appreciated feeling my confidence grow as I began to master each topic. I'm VERY pleased I purchased this in lieu of other materials out there. It'd be nice to have an online format showing you the steps to some of the answers, but I can't complain.

Increased my scores drastically!
I loved using this workbook to study for the GRE! I am terrible at math and had forgotten everything from high school, but the lessons made it easy to relearn all of the concepts and the practice tests really helped. I like that it starts out easier and gives more challenging questions in the end tests. It is very user friendly and helped me stay organized in the relearning process. My scores increased drastically from my initial practice scores, and I would attribute that to this book!

Great for the General GRE
I graduated with my BS over a decade ago, so the contents of the general GRE were a hazy distant memory for me. I went through the Kaplan GRE prep book and found I had some extra time before the exam, so picked this one up as well. I went through the entire contents in a couple of weeks and found that it greatly improved my speed on solving the math based section.

Although this book offers plenty of review on basic mathematical concepts, it fails to challenge you on the more difficult concepts of the actual GRE test.

Good For Getting Down The Basics And Practicing
Good workbook overall to get the basics down, but I feel like the advanced quant section was lacking in instruction. In most cases, I relied on time consuming intuition rather than expedient strategies to solve problems. The content of this book might be supplemented by an actual course that could solve this problem, but thatโs outside the purview of the product.

If you good in math
If you good in math, I would not get it and regular Textbooks with all parts of gre will be more than enough to get a sense what to expect. However, If you barely remember anything from Algebra is a huge help. Some strategies are discussed that were helpful to me. There are just too many problems to get through them all, but it could be helpful to some people I guess

Great GRE Math Prep
This book was exactly what I needed to improve my math GRE score. I'm pretty sure I went over it front to back. It helped me significantly increase my math score. It has organized sections that go over different types of GRE math questions, along with associated practice problems and explanations for the answers.

I kept feeling like I was being tricked
This book is so frustrating! I actually purchased this book because I wasn't getting enough math basics from Kaplan's GRE Premier 2017 (with 6 tests) book. My main problem with their GRE Math Workbook 10th Edition is their exercises. They have a format where they review some math concepts (say the concept of averages) and then present a 30-problem exercise that should be all about what they just reviewed (averages, for example). Unfortunately, their exercise problems include concepts the book doesn't review until much later. So the reader is left wondering why they can't complete the problems. I only know this by reviewing their exercise problem answer key. I was wondering why I kept getting their math problems wrong even after reading each of their conceptual reviews. This book will leave you very frustrated and pissed off! Its a big time waster. I kept feeling like I was being tricked, like 'we gotcha!' Why present math problems for your readers to complete when you haven't reviewed their concepts? Maybe the book is meant to frustrate the reader so much that they purchase a Kaplan GRE course.
