fantastic control
What a fantastic paddle! I almost hesitate to share this review because I'd rather let my competition keep buying Stigas, LOL. But in the end I feel blessed to have tried this, and would like others to share in that blessing. About me: I'm an OK player, played casually for many years, who can beat maybe 60% of the players at my office. I sometimes got great shots but my consistency has always been terrible, so finally decided to step up and buy a serious bat to compete with. All the serious players at the office have their own bats. After lots of research, I bought this Palio Expert 2 as well as a custom-made setup from colestt (the "buster" combo). I also tried the Stiga Pro Carbon which most of the top players at the office have, as well as some other brands lying around. I wanted to like the colestt racket, but truly I can say this Palio Expert 2 was without question far superior to any other for me -- I actually had a radical breakthrough within 30 minutes of using it! This racket is the heaviest of the lot, which I imagine is perhaps a disadvantage at a certain skill level, but at my level the control and touch this thing offers is completely unmatched by any other racket. And feedback -- I can truly feel what I did wrong in a shot because this thing has fantastic haptic (tactile) feedback. Hence the immediate breakthrough -- within minutes it was obvious to me what I'd been doing wrong for years and years, and guided by this feedback, suddenly everything clicked. My spins worked, my forehand loop worked, everything just worked like a dream. And my opponents hits suddenly became easy to return, because this racket somehow absorbs what they give so that even if my shot form isn't perfect, it still lands beautifully. Maybe that's the advantage of its heft? Not sure why but I LOVE the results. And after this breakthrough, I now play better with other rackets too by consciously applying what I realized from this one to the others, but I still play best and most naturally with this one because of that sensory feedback and the very forgiving heft. It's truly the best I've ever used, by a large margin! I'd say my shot accuracy and consistency has gone from 50% to 90%. The fear is gone -- most shots I know now will probably land. What a feeling that is! I haven't yet played in a big office tournament with the new racket, but so far in casual games I've been getting some lopsided victories. I don't know what is meant by the term "speed" but I gather this racket is not "speedy". But I don't really know what that's about, because I can slam and the ball will go perfectly fast as with any other racket. Anyway, whatever speed is, I've heard that it is the enemy of control, and the control I get with this racket is unparalleled for me, so I'll pick control over speed any day. After all, actually hitting the table is my top goal in any shot.

Really Awesome Rackets, Phenomenal Customer Service
My wife and I recently joined a ping pong club, so I went in search of new rackets that might help up our games. After reading tons of reviews and analyzing countless comparisons of speed, spin, and control capabilities, I purchased the Master 2 for my wife. It was a perfect choice. Her game improved on Day 1 and she is now smacking shots back with power that surprises opponents as well as herself. Along with significant pop to her shot, she also has better control over placement. She isn't big on spin, but I am, so I tested it out and the racket also takes care of business nicely in that area, too. The rubber quality is very good and shows no sign of separation or peeling. Overall, it's a terrific all-around choice. Equally impressive, is the customer service of TT Trading Company US. Before even receiving the racket, an email arrived from one of the racket's creators. In addition to a thank you for purchase, it included an invitation to contact him with any questions or issues, as well as helpful tips for racket care and use. I sent multiple questions that were responded to immediately. One of them was about the company's Legend 2 racket, which I was interested in for myself. It was out of stock (sold out, but available again last I checked), and the company got one to me immediately. The Legend 2 is awesome. It feels like powerful returns and opponent-confounding spins naturally fly off the racket. It's definitely taken my offensive game to the next level. These are fantastic products from a first-rate company that truly understands customer satisfaction and couldn't be more responsive or easier to deal with. Enjoy!

Great intro racket for beginners-intermediate level players!
2-cents about intro rackets: If you are in the market looking for a beginner - intermediate level racket, please do your research! [...] Beginners tend to not have a solid idea as to what racket they require for their style, which is why this all-around racket serves as a good base for learning. No one wants to spend a lot of money to be poorly satisfied later on. Do your research! Also, big companies like Butterfly, DHS, and Stiga tend to not spend a whole lot on the R&D nor manufacturing of their low-end rackets. What they do is slap a label with some pro and sell by the volumes. Palio on the other hand specializes in low-end rackets. They do have high-end products as well. I am looking forward to purchasing those as well. What you get: The wood on this racket is very responsive, you can feel the racket grip the ball on every hit. This ITTF certified rubber on this paddle is extremely high grip with a medium-hard sponge. Perfect for offensive players! This racket is heavy, very good when you need that extra power. The case that comes with it is very nice as well. Overall, a racket that is a good go-to racket, even if you have those high-end rackets. A racket I was satisfied with from the very start. TT Trading Co also did a follow up to insure that the purchase met my satisfaction, which I greatly appreciated. Not every seller commits to this level of service. If there is any issues with the racket they will make every effort, suggest different remedies, or your money back. How could you go wrong with the purchase?

Choose Palio Master over premade ones.Loose rubbers are a problem
This is a very balanced beginner racket available in the market.I wonder why is it not that popular in the US. Although Premade it is as good as a lower end custom racket. As compared to other premade racktes from STIGA,DONIC,KILLERSPIN,DHS this blows everyone out of the race. Spin - CJ800 rubbers have your back.Every other racket in this range has a bad no-name rubber with a logo.Get this if racket if you play spin defense without looking any further Attack - The ball just flies off if used properly especially when serving Control - This is one of the forgiving rackets luckily which wont penalize you if the technique is a bit off .This is the best for an intermediate/beginner Read experttabbletennis blog on which beginner racket to buy(google it) and decide. Note - The blogger actually markets the product so take it with a pinch of salt. Overall in my case, this bat has helped as i now have better control and spin which is what I wanted.Make sure to keep it clean as the rubbers are tacky and attract a lot of dust but that is a good thing when you are playing. The best part is that i can replace the rubbers in a few months which provides me great value for money considering the price of the racket.

A Whole New Realm of "Ping Pong" Well Worth the Price of Admission
I'll begin with a few statements overheard during the first match using these paddles: "I feel like I am holding a magic wand of Ping Pong." "These paddles make this a totally different game." "I am realizing that I am holding a secret weapon and I have no idea how to use it." After wearing out the stock (and decent) paddles that came with our table through two years of many table tennis matches per week, we ordered two Palio Expert 2 paddles through Amazon and anticipated their arrival like Christmas. Upon arrival, we put them to the test and played 6 matches with the new paddles. The difference was astounding. It elevated the game to a new level, raised our heart rates, tested our reflexes, and gave us a new level of control that will take some time to master. We are not professional table tennis folks. We are not competitive outside of our own basement. But the money spent on these two paddles has revolutionized our matches, brought new and exciting challenge to our level of playing, and opens a door to a whole new level of skill and competition. In summary - these are WELL worth the price paid, and trump any paddle I have ever used at any price.

Ready To Step Your Game Up?
I am an intermediate level player. My shot style is highly aggressive with heavy power and spin. I play with both an underhand (knife grip) and a continental tennis grip. I have played ping pong for years, but only recreational until about 6 months ago. I have used plenty of cheap colorful paddles that suited my leisurely play style up until then. I decided to get more serious and began my search for a mid-level non-custom paddle to complement my power and spin, without sacrificing precision. I looked at Killerspin JET paddles, STIGA Pro, and STIGA Evolution paddles. After trying the STIGA Pro Carbon, I knew that I wanted to have a bit more weight. That’s when I came across Palio’s paddles. It was a random find, to be honest, and the descriptions for their paddles were….non-existent? I considered both the Master 2 and Legend 2. Not having much to go on, I took a chance on the Palio Master 2 and figured it would be worth the price to see what it could do. Upon receiving the paddle, I noticed that it was considerably heavier than anything I had tested. It is a few ounces heavier than the Pro Carbon. I also realized that the rubbers were unlike anything I had played with before. They were very tacky, and the foam was thicker than any I had played with before. The change was so drastic that it was a good few days of hitting balls everywhere but on the table before I had dialed my accuracy in. The heavy weight of the paddle adds power that you have to get used to and the grip feels like it just doesn’t want to let go off the ball! However, it was only a few weeks before I was hitting shots harder and faster than any I had in the past. The rubber is high quality and needs to be kept clean (a first for me) but it is absolutely worth the TLC. The front and rear rubbers play identically, so you won’t have to worry about adapting your shot style to each side. I would absolutely recommend this paddle to anyone that enjoys hitting heavy shots, whether spin or power. The weight becomes very comfortable in the hand over time, and it now feels like an extension of my arm instead of a nimble blade in the hand. That being said, it took time and commitment to grow accustom to the weight and grip from this paddle. I give it 3/5 stars “for beginners” for that reason alone. It feels very durable and gives of a very unique/satisfying “smack” sound on perfect shots. I have used the paddle 2-3 times a week for a few months and there has been no loss of durability (you do have to clean the rubbers though). I very much enjoy playing with this paddle, and would recommend to anyone looking to/playing at the intermediate level who likes a bit of weight in their swing.

Quality worth the little extra $ - Great control for beginners without being too slow
LOVE these!! Bought two to go along with our new table for Christmas and absolutely love them!! I toyed with buying the cheap $10 or $20 Stiga's at Dick's but after reading the review on them falling apart I decided to get the next level and the $40 per paddle were worth it. These feel very sturdy and comfortable in your hand and offer enough control and speed for beginners but also allow for advancement as my son is quickly learning how to put a spin on the ball and be a more aggressive offensive player. Even my 10 yr old daughter has been able to learn quickly with these paddles I think in large part because of their stickiness they slow the ball enough to maintain control. When I was a kid our paddles were just wood with a bumpy piece of rubber and the balls would bounce off so fast is was very hard for kids to play. These are fantastic and I would highly recommend them! Plan to order two more so we can play doubles.

Don't buy this!
I bought a pair of Palio Expert 2 table tennis rackets after reading they would be good for a beginning player as well as a more experienced one. One racket is fine. The other racket is not! My 8 year old granddaughter used it the few times she visited during the summer. The red rubber was not attached properly and started peeling off. Unfortunately, it was past the return window. The only solution was to buy the expensive glue made for this purpose and try to reattach it. In the mean time, I contacted Palio and they gave me a partial refund on the defective racket. Generous considering it was past the return date but 30 days isn't enough time to actually get used to a new paddle. The refund wasn't enough to cover the cost of the glue! Unfortunately, even after carefully following the directions, I had trouble reattaching the rubber foam properly and the result is not smooth. How disappointing! My only solution now is have her remember to use the black side of the paddle. Or buy a new one...

A different level of play - moving up from sporting good store paddles
I'm writing this review for recreational players that want to move to a more professional paddle. I bought 2 of these to replace our existing paddles with aging rubber. I watched quite a few Youtube videos on moving to more skilled paddles and these are a good starting point. The spin level is insane vs. sporting goods store products, and ping pong becomes a completely different game. The rubber offers great control and we can handle the speed, tough we are not competitive players. The product quality seems quite good - no visible or detectable defects. I saw a few reviews where there are complaints about the rubber ungluing. Table Tennis rubbers are designed to unglue so the rubbers can be replaced, and as such will start to unglue quickly. Also, I assume that the initial tackiness will wear off in a few months of reuglar play, so at that time I will buy another similar rubber. This is not a amateur no-maintenance last-forever paddle.
