I've looked for these for so long! I have one my father gave me that was on its last legs. It is absolutely perfect because it is balanced correctly. The light handle design (exactly like the one my father gave me) is such that it stays on whatever you have placed in onto (cup, measuring cup, bowl). Other strainers don't stay because the heavy handle makes it fall unless you have an extra hand to hold it in place. I have put up with this for so long. Now, the best strainer is back! I was so happy my husband bought 2 of them. The price is right! It is a fine strainer & small. It can sit on top of your coffee cup, or across a measuring cup (fits the smallest 1 cup -- up to the quart size). I strain tea and lemon/lime juice through it. It catches the smallest seeds and pulp. Highly recommended.

Rewriting this because we just ordered two more. The one I bought 8 years ago still looks as pristine as the new ones, not a single fraying wire or anything. And although it is so fine it hasn't ever gotten clogged from buildup (I was expecting to have to soak it in vinegar periodically but nope). In the years since buying the first one we got a few locally because we wanted spares but didn't just reorder this to save the hassle of waiting for mailorder stuff. And we learned that most sieves have the handle spot welded onto the sieve edge, creating a weak point right at the part of the device that endures the most force, so eventually it snaps off. My husband strains the scary slime out when he pours a cup of of kombucha so naturally he taps the sieve face-down over the garbage or sink to remove the slime, and those other, flimsy, badly-designed sieves can't handle the impact. They kept breaking after less than a year of use. THIS gorgeous design has a single sturdy rod bent all around, forming the handle AND the sieve rim, ONE PIECE, so there's no spotweld to break! Being all-stainless, it also doesn't care about the acidity of all that kombucha, while we've has ones from the grocer that start to rust, making you wonder what's getting into your drink. These are so, so much better than other sieves!

.. This is good strainer that is able to take care of those small jobs such as straining out tea leafs from a open tea kettle and so forth. And its durable and cleans up well. Nothing wrong with this strainer. A good buy as well

Well, since you asked: I have a bird bath on my patio and I like to clean in daily as pollen and other airborne detritus lands there. While I do a deep cleaning regularly, I like to have a way to daily scoop out debris. While I know this is not at all the intended use, it certainly, perfectly, serves my purpose! :)

Overall it's okay. The size is accurate but honestly a bit too small to do much with. I would recommend 3cm or larger. The handle isn't very stiff and if you squeeze it you can feel it not attached to the actual mesh ring. Shows a bit of a quality issue. Overall though the mesh is a pretty good quality and has held up after several uses so I can't complain.

A perfect strainer for decanting tea, if one is brewing a cup or large pot in an open vessel like a ceramic, porcelain, or borosilicate measuring cup. carafe or pitcher. The description is accurate. It is truly 18/8 stainless steel, 2.5 inches in diameter, with a fine mesh sieve, and well constructed. A durable product at a good price.

Everything was very good about the product. My 97 year old friend needed it for her tea. The only negative was the price. Too much!

The strainer is great, not too deep as that’s what I needed. Only thing is it arrived with a dent on the side of the mesh, likely due to the packaging.
