I hard-boil eggs in batches weekly, and bought this as a way to easily store them (and keep them distinguishable from our raw eggs). The six-count compartment is perfect for my needs. Although I'm not worried about damaging a hard-boiled egg, I appreciate that the construction of this case carefully cradles eggs in a way that minimizes jostling; I would confidently store raw eggs in this. My eggs tend to be on the larger side of "medium" to the larger side of "Large," and all have fit very well. The case is made of sturdy plastic. The case easily snaps shut and remains secure at all times. It takes a little bit of effort to open; not so much as to be a hassle, but just enough so that you can be confident it won't spring open on you. Since this case never leaves my refrigerator, I followed another reviewer's tip and snipped off the carrying handle, so that it would fit more snugly in my fridge. Even if I decide to go traveling with six eggs, I doubt that's all I would be carrying, so I don't think the handle is necessary. All in all, this product does its job well: safely and compactly store six eggs. If this is a need you have, I fully endorse this product!

Replace my husband's 1990's red egg holder with this. Better made, easy to use, and protected the eggs just fine. No fading.

Sturdy storage container. It latches securely and won't pop open in the car on the way to your picnic or camp ground. The material from which this container is made would seem sturdy enough to protect your eggs during a rough ride. I did crack the shell on an egg that was not seated properly in the container when I closed it but that was my fault. The container holds eggs securely so a snug fit is part and parcel of getting your hard boiled eggs wherever you're going in one piece. For those of you looking for a storage container for eggs that won't travel any farther than from fridge to counter top, this may not be the best choice. First, although the container latches securely, I'm just not sure how long the thin material that latches the container closed will last if you're opening and closing it every day. I've only been using this container for a few weeks so I cant speak to the durability of the latches. The second issue relates to the first. As I said, the container latches securely. The latches are situated between the ends of the plastic handle. The container does not open easily and I find myself splitting the two halves of the handle (half attached to the top of the container and half attached to the bottom) to get enough leverage to get the container open. I'm not sure how long the handle will last being used this way, especially if you open and close the container every day.

Very hard to open

This was great! I went backpacking and was able to bring six fresh chicken eggs for a change, instead of crystallized eggs. Because the egg cups have some stiff interior protrusions on one side, I was concerned about the eggs not fitting, and then about the protrusions puncturing and breaking the eggs when I closed it up. Neither outcome proved to be an issue. I guess the protrusions are simply there as shock absorbers to distribute the force of minor jostles. I would 100% recommend this for a short trip. I may even buy the dozen size for a larger trip. Edit: I used it again on a backpacking outing, and this time, one of the eggs *did* get a small puncture at the top, where those stabilizing protrusions are. It didn't puncture the membrane, though. I wonder if a bit of padded adhesive tape over those protrusions might mitigate this problem. I still recommend the product, though, and will continue using it.

I use this for camping and the 6 count is perfect for my needs. Haven't had any broken eggs yet and hope that stays that way. Easy to clean and fits perfect in my cooler.

I travel to the headquarter of my company every week, which is a two and half hour driving. I used this product to store a few eggs which I place in company fridge and cook it for breakfast. This holder is made from yellow plastic and it's rigidness lived up to my expectations. Inside the holder there's also some little bulges to help stabilize the eggs, which is very helpful. I strongly recommend this product.

I paid way too much for this product, but I thought it would be good as it is claimed to be specially for camping. I wanted to store some eggs safely during my next bicycle tour. How disappointed I was, to see that it is just impossible to put 6 eggs in this container. And if I select the smallest eggs that I had available, they still touch eachother: guaranteed to break! This is only useful if you want to take 6 SMALL eggs. Not useful for normal sized eggs. This is a rip-off! Do not buy!
