More than worth the price
Better than anticipated if I’m being completely honest. Arms are plenty flexible yet nice and sturdy for when you’re soldering. The base is much heavier than I thought it’d be which was a pleasant surprise. Nice powder-coat on the base. Super simple assembly. Mine arrived with two extra clips as well which is nice. I would certainly buy again if needed or recommend to anyone looking.

A multipurpose helper
I’ve gotten ‘third hand’ devices for sewing in the past so I knew when soldering became a new curiosity, the same concept would really come in handy for it. This thing is more like a third/fourth/fifth/sixth hand though.Very easy to assemble, comes in a pretty small box, nestled in foam cutouts. The steel base is a nice heavy weight, definitely not going to get pushed around easily. The rubber feet are balanced so there’s no wobble. The arms are strong but not difficult to bend like some tablet holders I’ve used in the past. I love the tightening nuts that attach to the alligator clips; you can use these to loosen the clip, swivel it to the right angle then tighten it so it won’t budge once more. Very handy. The clips are very strong and the teeth will hurt so definitely use the black rubber caps to protect skin and circuit boards better. It’s absolutely terrific for soldering but it also works great for clamping and glueing with other sorts of DIY projects and crafts on a small scale. I don’t solder a whole lot so it’s good to know I can use it for many other tasks. For the price and soldering, it’s likely all you’ll ever need unless you have much heavier/larger or really micro projects. For most other tasks, this is perfect.

The light in the magnifying glass that has low or high mode for brightness is the coolest feature!
Very Sturdy..Heavy so it wont move around on rubber feet so it will not slide either. This was nice to find out. Also has a very cool LED light in the magnifying glass that of course I use mostly on high. Also the rubber boots that go over the alligator clips to prevent any item you are grabbing..usually tiny electrical wires from getting the insulation damaged work nice and do not slip. USE LOCTITE on assembly to keep the flexible arms from coming loose. This works very well and definitely helps with my soldering in tiny Decoders with Sound into my N Scale Locomotives. The arms bend pretty flexible but still tend to bend back a little instead of folding and holding position to bend all the way to table level so i put the train on a 4 inch box as a stand to have it high enough to work with. As for electrical wire to wire soldering works very well but takes a couple repeated tweaks to get the arms to stay where you want them to solder the two ends together on a wire. Otherwise very useful as another set of fingers to hold what you are working on in place. Definitely sturdy and well made including the heavy solid feeling alligator clips. Instructions are legible..could be better so over all a 4 star which could be a 5 if a little more useful stay where you bend the arms are. Maybe it will even break in over time then should be a 5 star. Also nice that the Manufacture gives you some extra rubber boots for the Alligator clips and a couple extra parts with this well made stand. Definitely worth its money...

Built well.
I finally used this for the first time today. It's made very well. It held my work perfectly for what I was trying to do.

Works better than I expected
This works great. I have been using the terrible little stand with clips for years. I was concerned about how high the clips sat on the flex arms, but bending them down actually allowed a lower working position and the clips were holding from the top and totally out of the way. I wish I had bought this years ago. Recommend.

joint arm does not lock down
This kit includes four gooseneck / flex arms and one joint arm with a rotating joint in the middle and a ball and socket joint on each end. The ball and socket joints do not tighten down by any mechanism - it does not thread down, it does not spring down, it does not snap... the included beaker clamp only fits on the joint arm and is useless because the joint arm does not lock into place on either end.The rest of the kit is as advertised. The base plate is roughly 5.5 inches by 8 inches and has a decent amount of gravity in it. The gooseneck arms are long, and feel relatively stiff in the as received condition. The magnet bases are about as strong as I could desire without risking pinches and jams. The solder iron basket is a neat idea but I'm not sure I will trust it with a hot tip since it is only held by the magnet. The board holders/standoffs will be handy for smaller boards, but they don't feel sturdy enough to take any real torque, nor do they function as threaded standoff tie-downs, just a place to rest a smaller board.Overall, 3/5. Reasonable kit that I can absolutely see myself getting irritated with and either modifying or yeeting.
