Before You Purchase
Before you buy this look at the FCC ID# on your current key fob. It's located under the removable key. Make sure this matches EXACTLY the one you want to purchase or else you will get the red light error or it won't work at all. I bought one as a spare for a 2017 Mazda 3 sedan. A local locksmith was able to program and cut the key in about 15 minutes and it works fine with no red light error. Purchased from North Coast Keyless

Great OEM keyfob
Got it from NorthCoast Keyless. Confirmed it is a real OEM keyfob, was able to get it programmed by a local keysmith. One note: Please double check and make sure the FCC ID is the exact same as the remote you want to copy from. For me my original was a WAZSKE13D02, and the copy was a WAZSKE13D01 but worked fine.

Terrible - cannot be reprogrammed properly
Total waste of money. It looked great, seemed like it would work, and I had it reprogrammed by a local co who had to call two different national support companies during the process. They couldn't troubleshoot it - the car kept giving off a keyless entry system error. Ended up having to take it to the Mazda dealer who said there was something wrong with the fob and it was unusable, couldn't be reprogrammed. This was an expensive waste of time. I was trying to save some money and I should have gone to the dealer to start with.

Works for 2017 Miata!
I took this to my local Mazda dealership in June of ‘25 and they had no issues programming it for my ‘17 Miata. The service tech questioned the fob’s authenticity, but it works great so far. When I told him I bought the fob for 80ish dollars he was surprised and said that a Mazda fob from them was $350. After all was said and done with programming, metal key cutting (the blank is included with this fob) and I ended up saving $340 by taking a gamble on this product.

Dealer tried to program the key but i was advised that it has limited functionality, contrary to seller claim. Obviously not happy to pay $100+ for such a key. I had to pay the dealer to carve the key and attempt programming and now I will seek a refund.

My local Mazda dealer was not able to program it. I still had to pay $85 for them to try. Don't know if it's the remote or the technician but I don't have a working fob.

This is not original OEM key and it comes locked. This will not be able to get programmed since is locked. Please don't waste your time and seller please make sure your keys are unlocked at least.
