This is it
If you had to choose one product for all standard firearm cleaning chores, this would be it. It is a classic, with an unforgettable smell. It cleans well and removes grime, carbon, and copper fouling. I apply it liberally to the bore and anywhere else the carbon builds up inside the mechanism. My second step after using Hoppe's is to spray everything clean with a degreaser. Finally, the lubrication step. I try to coat the bore for a while to let the Hoppe's work for an hour or more but I honestly can't say if this really helps.
