My Father in law gave me his old one and has been stolen with some other great gear and items. One thing I wanted to get was another match with fuel type firestarter. These I like because even if you use all the fuel, you at least have the striking ability for other combustion options when talking about a campfire. This is much nicer than the first one I was gifted from my Father in law so I love it. Wish my first one was never taken but what a replacement!

This item is pretty OK. HOWEVER, there should be a warning posted on the Amazon description AND with the item. The fact that I narrowly avoided burning down my home is a blessing so I want to share my experience. It is extremely important when you fill this lighter with fuel that you COMPLETELY wipe it down and make sure that none of the fluid dripped onto the lighter. When I filled mine, some did leak. When I lit the match on the flint, the whole thing went up in flames...IN MY HAND. My dog was right next to me. I quickly rushed the sink and poured water on it. I don't know if it still works or not, nor do I care. My dog and I are still alive and I still have a place to live. Luckily I had aloe vera handy to treat my burn. DO NOT allow a child to use this and be very careful.

The media could not be loaded. A little hard to get going but after messing with it you get the hang of it pretty easily. It was cheap and worth the money. Just don’t buy it for your wife for a candle lighter I ended up with it on my keychain lol

Gift able? Well, not if your friends or family intend to use it to save their life or limb. It's a decent value....it does work, just not particularly consistently. Flint wears down quickly, so it isn't infinite for sure. Requires practice. That said, I can say I wouldn't rely on it as a primary Firestarter. More like tertiary. Light, doesn't leak. For what it is it's ok.

I wanted this product to ad to my GoBag for emergency survival and I did have to buy lighter fluid for this but I needed that also anyway, All n All this is an outstanding product and very happy with it I did recommend it to others

It looks nice but doesn’t function well. It lite a total of two times.

I bought this as part of a gift and the metal piece that holds the wick broke in half within two weeks and the lighter as a whole is now useless
