Works great!
Seems to be working! I was skeptical, after having used several other things to try and rid my yard of moles. I sprayed my front yard three times with one gallon mixed up following the instructions. I mixed it into a 15 gallon spot sprayer. Within at least two weeks of the second application, I noticed a marked reduction in activity and since the third application, I haven't seen any activity in my front yard. I'm going to get a second gallon to treat my back yard and hit the front yard again.Just be aware, this is, obviously, an oil. So your grass will be a bit slick after applying it. It does have a slight odor, but not a chemical odor or anything like that. I wouldn't apply it right before a heavy rain, but maybe when the grass is slightly damp (e.g. heavy dew or right after a rain...) as it may help it soak into the ground quicker. I applied mine about 4-6 weeks apart. I used the "finest cheapest" store brand dish soap (will help it mix in the water for spraying).

Doesn't get rid of moles or voles but it does seem to reduce their numbers
This is not a solution to mole/vole infestations but it will help keep them away after trapping/fumigating. I use this with my CO2 gassing machine. It coats their tunnels and seems to keep them away for a while. Anything is a big help when you have a bad infestation. It's all natural so it won't harm the environment. There is no noticiable scent for humans but probably a nasty one for Voles, Moles or Gophers. I have a gopher problem and castor oil is a good repellant. So it's effective for my application.

Works great!
I have tried everything over the years to get rid of these obnoxious critters. Since I have a very large yard and water is expensive I opted to use the Castor Oil differently. I used Castor Oil, dish soap and a few other ingredients. I poured a little bit of my concoction down into each mole mound that I found. It’s a process that I have had to do daily. To my surprise I have managed to herd the moles off the grass and flower bed's. And I still have some Castor Oil left. I also discovered that moles are attracted to bird feeders. We had one in our backyard and the moles ruined our grass and beds. We took it down and the moles haven’t returned. If you have the patience and time I recommend using this product and my method.

HOW IT WORKED FOR ME
Don't mash the tunnels, you'll need them as a guide for applying the recipe. I mixed it with a couple other things, then i mixed just half the water in the recipe, poured that into a countainer, and mixed it up (shook it). I let it set for about a week and a half. We've had alot of rain, and you have to spray the ground when the ground is just right, and also it's best if it's going to rain the next day after application. Day of application, i sprayed (just outside the parameter of their digging, and making sure not to spray an area so they could exit, then i sprayed the top of all the active tunnels except one that could take them to their exit). So i added the additional water to the concotion that'd been sitting outside and poured it into a cheap $10 hand held sprayer. NOTE: my recipe calls for a very small amount of this somewhat expensive product - but it's been worth every stinking penny. I sprayed almost a quarter of an acre area and had some left over. IT WORKS! Within a weeks time, no more digging into my yard all slong the fence line. No new tunnels, and i can literally see where they exited my yard. My following the recipe then learning how to apply it really paid off here. Now you can go mash the tunnels. Now i'm curious how long it will last, but i'm pretty sure i'll have to reapply since I've learned that the first application should be BEFORE they start digging, early Spring.

Title: Works, but it’s high-effort and moves the problem around
I’ll rate this 3/5 starsI bought this castor oil mole repellent hoping for an easy spray-and-go fix. Here’s how it actually went:What worked:It does repel moles. When I dug a hole right where a mole tunnel started, mixed the castor oil with dish soap, and poured it in, the mole abandoned that spot. The castor oil + dish soap combo seems to irritate them enough to leave. What didn’t work:1. No spraying – You can’t just spray your lawn. I tried once and it left the grass super greasy and slick. It has to be poured directly into active tunnels.2. It’s a game of whack-a-mole – They move away from the treated spot, but then pop up somewhere else in the yard. You’re just chasing them around.3. Labor intensive – You have to find active tunnels, dig each one, mix, and pour. For a big yard, that’s a lot of work.Bottom line: If you have 1-2 problem spots and don’t mind the effort, it works as a targeted treatment. But if you want a whole-yard solution you can spray, this isn’t it. I wish there was an easier application method that didn’t make grass greasy.

Some reviews contain misinformation about the product's process and results.
Applied yesterday following an explosion of voles in our garden and flowerbeds after last winter. I followed the instructions on the bottle, using a 1-gallon pump sprayer I bought specifically for use with this anti-vole repellent only. I have read about applying in a disturbed area to gradually move them out into the woods. I will report the results later.I'm mainly writing because of some misinformation I have read here about the processes used to apply the product, and not having good results. On the bottle, it says, when using a hand sprayer to apply the repellent, use 1 cup of castor oil, 1/2 cup of dish soap, and add water to make a one-gallon mix.Make sure to fully shake the solution up before and while spraying it. Do not spray it on plants, but on the ground around the plants. It is also suggested to start in an area on the edge of an infestation, and to increase the area sprayed over a few days to drive them out towards another area you are not concerned about, like the woods, if you have them.If this works for me, I plan to preventively spray the areas of concern in the spring to keep the critters out.BTW, I didn't notice a scent problem as some have reported. I did get a whiff of the fragrance of the Dawn dish soap that I used in the solution.
