Dark Warrior series: Book 1: Midnight's Warrior Book 2: Midnight's Lover Book 3: Midnight's Seduction Book 4: Midnight's Warrior Book 5: Midnight's Kiss Book 6: Midnight's Captive Book 7: Midnight's Temptation Book 8: Midnight's Promise Book 8.5: Midnight's Surrender Review: Great Start - I loved it. I would recommend that before reading this book and starting this series to first read the Dark Sword Series by this author, as this is a spin off from it and is so intertwined you would be not get the whole history, reading experience or insight into a huge world that's been built before this story begins. With all that said this book was great and did not disappoint. After reading the whole Dark Sword series I had a real hard time understanding how the author would be able to tie the two series together, but she did and did so fabulously. With the introduction of the new characters, the crazy plot twist, well told action scenes, well written characters that are likeable and relatable, the romance is steamy but not over the top leaving you with a epic story you cant put down. I cant wait to dive into the next to see where the story takes us next. Review: Good book - I enjoyed reading and learning about the warriors. Some parts were still unclear to me about the warriors and their gods but hopefully they become more clear in the second book.

Never a disappointment...
Donna never disappoints with her story. She weaves enough magic to enrapture you in her tale. Many I hear is disappointed with the direction Donna took with this series. Being the opposite I was intrigued, curious on how she was going to pull this off. To say that I anticipated this series is an understatement. Have read the previous books in her series Logan is well known, that there was a deep shameful secret he'd been harboring close to his heart for years. Hints of that secret came out at the end of The Darkest Highlander. So really Donna did not have to do a lot of build up for Logan. But for those who started with Midnight's Master without reading the Darksword books she touched on the important bits we learned about Logan from there. That he's tortured from his secret, tortured on what happened to his fellow Warrior in his presence and his need to find Ian and protect druids. Gwynn - okay I was not sure on how to take her at first. She differed from the previous heroines. As we learn about Gwynn's background, the life she lead in the States with her parents my heart went out to her. At first I disliked her mother for causing her daughter to close off an important part of her. Soon that dislike shifted more and darker to her father. Gwynn's character grew throughout the book. And it was not in BIG bounds but increments However now the Warriors and Druids have another villian to worry about. Not only do they have to fight Diedre but another drough druid. So things in the plot thicken. Along with the villian a new ally shows up, a druid seer Saffron. Yeah I cannot wait for her book and it's obvious which Warrior she will be paired with. There are several humerous scenes in this book. First one that comes to mind is Logan shaving with a pink shaver. The other is Logan's first introduction with a vehicle.

one of the best
This is one of the best books of this series. All the characters have a strong personality that keeps you wanting to know about them in the following books. The author always comes back to those characters so you can follow their life's as well as the principal characters.. Excellent series!!

Not a page-turner
Midnight's Master is a continuing story about Druid women and Warrior men. The Warrior men somehow have an ancient god inside them, and when unleashed the men become immortal with certain powers over nature and excellent fighting abilities. There are plenty of "bad guys" for them to fight. It is all about Good versus Evil. I read the whole book. It is an adequate story. However, the story didn't hold my attention enough to snuggle in for a good long read.

Dark Warriors Series
This novel is the 1st in the spin off series, "Dark Warriors" by author; Donna Grant. In the last novel of the "Dark Sword" series, "Darkest Highlander" it ended where a few key characters were blasted to the future unexpectedly. This novel is where it continues and also the beginning of the new series, "Dark Warriors". Ms Grant does not let the reader down in this novel at all! It's full of adventure, romance, action and suspense. This was a fun and excitingly quick read. Very enjoyable and refreshing. I do recommend this series, novel and author however, I would recommend reading the the "Dark Sword" series first so you don't feel lost with the characters and their stories. Happy Reading!

I love it
This series should be made into a movie. Even if you have not read the previous books, Donna did a great job catching you up without be monotonous. She has a tendency to go over the edge with sex and vulgar language which I think could be toned down. But, the story is so good and so far out there I still love it. Her imagination is fantastic with these great characters. I think this was the best book yet and hope she does 10 more follow ups! Time travel, Druids, hunky Scottish warriors, magic, intrique, castles. I can't wait to read Ian's story.

Captivating
I am a fan of Donna Grant! When I first started to read her Dark Sword series, I got "hooked" to her stories. Midnight's Master is her first novel of her Dark Warrior series. Gwynn Austin's father disappeared in Scotland. She goes searching for him and meets a handsome Warrior named Logan Hamilton. She soons discovers that she is a Druid and that Logan is a Warrior propelled through time to the 21st Century. He promise to protect her from evil and Deirdre. Both will learn to trust each other, battle evil and find love. I was "hooked" from the first page and could not put it down. I loved the characters and I really liked this time-travel story. I laugh when Gwynn gave a pair of jeans to Logan to try on....so funny, the way Ms. Grant describes the scene. I will definitely be reading more books by Ms. Grant, because she is a great writer and knows how to captivate the readers. Do not forget to read her second novel Midnight's Lover.

Another Amazing Writer!
I came across Donna Grant's books by accident. And I'm so glad I did. I decided to make a general review of the Dark Sword and Dark Warriors books that I've read so far here. All of her books have great stories and the most entertaining and absorbing is The Dark Sword Series which flows into The Dark Warriors. She has been able to weave the stories of all the Immortal Highlanders and the Druids and the back story of how they came to be - from 1603 to the Present. I would have thought that time travel was in the realm of science fiction. But Ms Grants has been able to keep within the historical fantasy/romance genre and I was really pleasantly surprised by how she did it. I can understand why others think that Ms Grant keeps on repeating the story of how the Celts and their Druids battled to kick out Rome from the isles. But if you don't happen to read the first book of the series, or come across the third or fourth books, then any reader would want to know how the Warriors came to be. From Lucan and Cara, Fallon and Larena, Quinn and Marcail, Hayden and Isla, Broc and Sonya, Duncan's tragedy, and the following stories of Logan and Gwynn, Ian, Arran, and Camdyn (hope I didn't miss anyone! Books have been written for all of these characters), Ms Grant has created an incredible and real world for them, writing about the brotherhood of the Warriors, the sisterhood of the Druids, and their immortal bond of friendship and the Warriors' love for their women against the evil that continuously threatens them. Another reason why I like these Series is because it is different from the other historical/sensual romance. In the beginning of the series, the dilemma of losing the women they love eats into them. The Warriors are immortal and their women are not. But the Warriors are willing to experience loving these mortal women for the duration of their human lives than not to have loved them at all. This, I think, will resonate in every reader who has loved and lost and who would want to live forever with the person who makes them whole. If there was a way to give Ms Grant more than 5 stars for her novels, I'd give her 9.5-10. I look forward to more of Ms Grant's stories. She is truly an amazing and gifted writer.
