Wonderful book by St Francis De Sales. He writes beautifully and always gives meaning to everything one experiences in life. great book for meditation and self improvement.

This book is an incredible resource for those wishing to deepen their spiritual life. The insights and directions it contains are clear, easy to understand, and invaluable. On a few rare occasions the suggestions can be taken with a grain of salt, as the intended audience is to a reader living in the 1600s, but overall it is shockingly appropriate for the challenges those attempting to live a devout life have to face in our modern world. It may come across as overwhelming to someone new to the spiritual life, but with prayer and the advice of a spiritual director, or someone with wisdom and experience in this way of life, what St. Francis sets out in these pages is attainable by anyone with a genuine desire to at least aim at such a life. I highly recommend this book to anyone seeking a closer union with God in their day to day life.

This book is loaded with clear, practical but profound advice for ordinary people who want to deepen their spiritual life in the midst of busy days. The saintly author also maintains a unique balance of moral rigor and tender compassion.

Makes me believe in God because this person must have been a saint cause it reads so well that it is as if God blessed ever single word with competence! How else could a book like this ever be wrote expect if it were from the hands of the Divine!

The book is great, but for some reason Amazon can't seem to deliver books in one piece anymore. The last four I received in nothing more than a plastic bag and damaged.

I've only just begun reading it and I already know why it was so highly rated in the reviews. I strongly agree. It's hard to put down. I could just put myself on a "self-retreat" and read this from cover to cover if I had the time. Sadly, I don't, but I'm enjoying it very much and it's already helping me to grow in my faith. I've got 3 bookshelves full of wonderful, faith-related books that have genuinely helped me on my faith journey and enjoyed. I can't recommend this one enough to add to your own library.

Arrived by Kindle. Good practical advice on how to love God and neighbour. preferred to buy kindle because it was cheaper than the book and arrived quicker.
