Put it where it’s convenient for you!
Love that these can be placed literally anywhere. I’ve got one hanging on the back of my nightstand with a command hook and zip tie so I can remove it easily. But it’s also out of sight. Easy to add to the app and functional within minutes.

Great Home Assistant Z-wave Keypad
If you use Home Assistant and have a z wave antenna, you will not find a nicer keypad for your automations. Lithium battery, long battery life, good range with Z-wave and native integration. I use it to open my Matter-enabled garage doors, but you can do anything you dream of. A gate, a door, alarm arm/disarm. Or all of them simultaneously. Probably assign whole scenes/scripts to a button or combination. For the low price, this thing is really well-made and cheap enough to sacrifice to the elements every few years. And you can power it with 5V if you want.

Ring Alarm Keypad
Had to replace my keypad because the speaker went bad. New keypad was easy to install.

Nice for alerts, but not a great keypad.
These work well to deliver "chirps" upon open doors, and to sound an alarm. The functionality of the keypad is, however, nothing like that of a true alarm keypad. I am still forced to use the app when I need to arm or disarm, but it is great for alerts.

Reliable and easy install
Replaced my key pad on a six or more older one. Battery wasn’t holding a charge. Installation was pretty simple if you used your ring app to install. Just add new device , scan QR code and it automatically connected. Charged first with the enclosed power cord. Installed the next day and it works great. If I had one complaint I wish keypad would light up when you needed to turn it off. Because the light is dim in our entry we usually always put the wrong code in the first time. Great product

Ring keypad second purchase
The keypad was good for such a short period. I purchased a new one 6-7 months ago, this one did'nt last, so I have to purchase a new one. I put a date of purchase, so I can track how long it will last. At this point, it's all good, just luck of the draw.

Easy install with my current system, got it up and running in no time. It gives me an additional safety and security feature by my bedside.

Initial scratchy sound, but RING’s support and “automatic” fix improved my experience.
UPDATED REVIEW - I originally purchased the Ring Keypad Alarm about a year ago and, upon first review, noticed that the sound coming from the keypad was scratchy and unpleasant. It was a disappointing experience initially, but I didn't take further action at that time. What stood out to me afterward was RING’s proactive approach. They made multiple attempts to contact me via email and phone to discuss the issue I was experiencing. I found this level of customer service to be quite unexpected and appreciated their effort to resolve potential concerns. Interestingly, the problem with the keypad appears to have resolved itself without any action on my part. The sound is now clear, and the device seems to be functioning normally. Overall, while I had an initial issue, the responsive customer support and the device's apparent self-correction positively influenced my opinion of the product and the company's support… What was the cause or how it resolved itself? I cannot explain. Changing this review became a civic responsibility for me.

Good product.
This is a good keypad, installation was easy. Connecting to the app was easy too. Lights didn't stay on while plugged in as it did with the Gen 1 version. It's quite smaller in size. It's worth upgrading if you want the emergency buttons, keep in mind, all emergency buttons will sound the alarm.

Works very well
Love the ring security system . Works flawlessly. Better than a professional installed system, which I used to own for 25 years. This blows it away no regrets money well spent on the ring system.

Quick addon to the Ring alarm system - worthwhile upgrade since it can be used without a phone
Using the mobile app for the Ring system is definitely the best approach for a remote perspective - but on an actual intuitive perspective, you really can't beat having an easy to access keypad that can arm and disarm the system. Sometimes you just can't reach your phone (be it, it's inside your pocket or in the car temporarily, or what not), this makes it EXTREMELY easy to use. Just set and remember your pin - and use it like a conventional style alarm -- call me old school, but it's DEFINITELY faster and more effective this way . Also useful when you want to grant access to a family member or friend, but they don't have access to the app or want to download the additional app. You have these "wireless" keypads put anywhere - either it be hidden or out in plain sight. Making it with an internal battery was an exceptional idea! Having both the version 1 and Version 2, I do admit I like the lower profile of the newer style - but because it's a smaller unit... it doesn't always cover the previously installed keypad holes. So perhaps Ring can introduce an additional cover plate or such for those that are facing this issue.

Keypad doesn’t charge *UPDATED*
This keypad doesn’t charge whatsoever. I opened my keypad yesterday and let it charge for 24 hours. As soon as I unplugged it, it stopped working. EDIT: Ring Customer Support reached out to me after this review. Even though it was passed the Amazon return date, they helped me troubleshoot the problem and replaced the entire keypad for me as it was defective. The replacement arrived quickly and worked perfectly!
