I got these free with the purchase of the Beavercraft strop. Good polishing compound and the one I received with the strop, sets me up nice for a while. Works really great ever. Really brings back the edge, hons that blade perfectly.

All my carving knives and gouges love this and so do I!

As soon as I pulled one out of the packaging I could smell diesel fuel, went ahead and applied to my strop and the entire house smelled like petroleum, no other strop compound that I've used ever had a smell. Needless to say wife wasn't happy.

This compound doesn't seem to want to work into the strop. It almost sits on top of the leather rather than works into it, and then when polishing the blade it flakes off the compound. It's just not working well at all for me. Maybe I got an old, dried out compound? It almost seems that way.
