This book is a fantastic read all around. It is hopeful, positive, and beautifully written. The author does a wonderful job of taking anecdotal near death experiences (NDE's) and connecting what is said over many instances all over the world and throughout many distinct cultures to scripture showing how what all these people are experiencing has some backing in sacred writings of both the Old and New Testaments. I have read and reviewed other books on NDE's, and found this to be one of the best- especially if you are someone that really wants a literal scriptural backing in order to believe in the veracity of the claims. Burke does his research- and knows his Bible. He also cites many other leading NDE researchers that share similar conclusions- which I think is important to show he is not alone. His conclusions are down to earth- and he does well explaining exactly why he comes to that conclusion as well as why some of the popular explanations to debunk NDE's such as the lack of oxygen or dying brain are really way more difficult to believe. He also includes phenomenal stories of visions of heaven of such people as Akiane Kramarik who in of herself is fascinating. If you have any interest in NDE's or just want a little boost to help your faith in what is to come while still doing your best in this struggling world- this book is wonderful. Happy to recommend!

This book is a God send. After our son died, it helped me heal. John Burke wrote it as an agnostic, so he had no bias to skew his research. Reading the amazing "near death" experiences of so many people brought me through an exceptionally tough time. I now know our son is at peace in the loving arms of Jesus. Thank you, John Burke.

I can’t explain how life changing this book and John Burkes podcasts have been. I had so much uncertainty and fear surrounding death but also Matthew 22:30 gave a lot of fright to me and many I know. This book paints such a wholesome picture of Heaven and God’s love. Jesus Christ prepared a Holy , loving, and EXCITING place for us! This book gave a special sneak preview into the afterlife we can look forward to as we follow Christ. I ordered it for many people in my life. 1000/10

Fascinating stories from both patients and physicians. The one thing that bothered me was the narrator's attempt to use various voices as though it was a novel. It sounds silly in a nonfiction book and he doesn't really do it very well.

Fascinating! The stories of people meeting Jesus Christ face-to-face and His pouring love out to them are the most wonderful and the most fascinating stories of the book. I've started buying copies for my friends and will be buying copies and leaving them on park benches, at the beach, etc with a note on them, "Finder's Keepers!" That's how good this book is.

I don't remember where I learned of this book....but since receiving it, I have not been able to put it down! Having read a number of books about "near death experiences", I had a good understanding about the phenomena. However, this book weaves this knowledge into a wonderful spiritual tapestry that has brought me to a place of renewed faith and hope. This book will appeal to anyone - whether you're on a spiritual path or not. I am happy that I found it!!!

This is an awesome book. The stories are segmented with Bible verses to show how they all seem to agree with scripture.

Ein Must-Have in jeder (vor allem christlichen) Bibliothek. Ich habe das Buch schon 2 Mal gelesen und einmal verschenkt und es wird immernoch nicht langweilig. Sehr spannend und es regt zum Nachdenken an. Es sind sehr viele Erfahrungen von allen Nationalitäten, Glaubensrichtungen und Altersunterschieden eingeflossen und das macht es auch so glaubwürdig.

It's good book

This read has me longing to go right now. Such depth in connecting the dots from the NDE to scripture. I did find a bit of the NDE stories repetitious but understand why they were included.
