Does the product look like the advertise picture? I keep reading about that the cuts very rough and need lots of scraping and sanding?

Yes, I ordered 10 of these and they are beautiful! Note it comes in 2 pieces and the middle piece will have to be glued down. A couple of them required light sanding just to smooth them down but it's wood. That happened with wood. Biggest issue I had was that a couple of them arrived with broken pieces. The seller IMMEDIATELY sent a replacement and I was able to continue with my project. My final result is stunning. I painted them gold. Also, I was surprised at the quality. I ordered a couple more from another seller because this seller did not have the quantity I needed in stock and they were thin and light. But, over all, I am very satisfied with the product and the price. Hope this helps you.

Hello, I Intend to paint them gold and attach them to the inside of my door. What type of paint would you recommend?

I would recommend a metallic latex paint but you will need a small dremal tool to sand all the little swirls on the inside, some of them aren’t smooth and will show up especially with a metallic paint. I have white doors and painted my decoration to match, they look great, I now wish I had been able to find a bit bigger size, I put them at eye level and there is plenty of room to have had them be longer.
