How long in from the edge of the paper can you apply the emboss?

When I insert the paper all the way back and emboss the bottom edge of the image is 1 inch from the bottom of the page.

Mine gave a good even impression, easy-to-use. I bought two, and impression and use were the same on both. It is a subtle embosser - NOT an inked stamp.
