Works perfectly. I bought to secure our rug pads onto two area rugs. Easy to use. I turned the rugs over and placed tap where needed and then removed sticky tape and placed rug pads on tape. Great grip. Our rugs are so much more stable now. I did use the box cutter included and cut my tape on a piece of cardboard first. Highly recommend.

This carpet tape is the real deal but the reason I'm such a fan of it is because of the applications I've used it for aside from sticking rugs to the floor. Which by the way, it does INSANELY WELL. This is kind-of like krazy glue for your carpets or rugs ... with the added benefit of you being able to remove it whenever you pretty want to. Although, don't be fooled. This stuff is strong and it takes effort to remove it from the floor. It's so strong, it's torn off the perimeter fabric around some rugs of mine when I was trying to do things quickly, so I've learned that when I'm removing it, to go slowly. Once you use it to keep carpets in place, remember that you'll always have to vacuum AROUND them because they won't go easily, lol. The end result is a flawless appearance. No one would ever know you're using it and you can rest assured knowing no one will be busting their ahhhs thanks to slippery floors. Now, onto the real fun stuff: You know the pain of having to remove something sticky from a hard surface? It can be a nightmare, right? Well, believe it or not, this tape actually helps! This tape is sticky as hell. If it's too long in your hands, some residue of the sticky-stuff will remain on your hands or fingers but the best way to get rid of it is to do this: Get another little piece of tape, tape it to something so one side is no longer sticky and use the sticky side to remove the sticky leftover pieces on your hand. Yes, seriously, it's that simple. This stuff is so sticky that it has the power to pick up other sticky residues. I wish I had it when I had to remove my car inspection sticker so that the new one could be put on, I have a feeling it would have worked like a charm. Also, the value for money is crazy. I usually buy the 2x30 one and it lasts me easily 2 years. BY THE WAY, as far as ease of cutting, it isn't easy to cut. So, don't ever use scissors trying to cut this, you will just drive yourself nuts instead. Use a BOX CUTTER only. I hope this helps!

Was replacing carpeting in a smaller walking closet with left over remnants from when "professionals" laid carpeting in several rooms. Biggest learning curve with using "double backed " tape was figuring out how to get tape to stick either to the floor first or back of carpet long enough to peel off backing covering other sticky surface. Found it was best to apply to the back of carpet, then remove other side of tapes cover then apply to the floor. Once that was done carpet was very firmly held in place. Would recommend.

Excellent, does its job so well I don't think about it anymore. Bought it as a gift bc guests kept tripping over the rug edges. This worked immediately and kept the rug down nicely. 100+ stars. Perfect size for the rug, you can't see it, it stuck like glue, and the carpet's perfectly flat now!

We used this tape to fasten down large area rugs on our hardwood living room floor about 1.5 years ago. We had taped down all straight edges that were exposed to traffic (i.e., that people walk across and might trip or stub their feet on), and about 18" on the corners along non-traffic sides. It worked great! It held the carpet down well all this time, without coming loose at all. This was with lots of foot traffic, and even with chairs being scooted back and forth across the edges. Today we had to pull it up to put a new rug in, and I was concerned how removable it would be - whether the tape would pull up without tearing into pieces, and whether it would have ruined the floor. I am happy to say that there were no problems at all - the tape came up well, without tearing at all, and the hardwood floor was absolutely fine, with no residue at all. I can't testify as to whether it works longer than 1.5 years, but based on the great condition of the tape after 1.5 years, I would feel confident leaving it in place for 2-3 years. At any point in time, of course, it can be pulled up and replaced, if one were concerned about longevity. You could also use a double row of tape for greater adhesion, if needed. (The backs of the rugs we were sticking down were pretty smooth, so texture of the rugs was not an issue.) I think this tape is a great value at the listed price of $11.40 for 30 yards (90 feet). I will buy this again when needed.

I bought it to tape down some thick anti slip rubber mats but unfortunately they barely adhered to them and I had to nail them instead. It did work well on the welcome mat though. The welcome mat had latex or a thin rubber backing and it seemed to stick to that. The adhesion to the welcome is good enough that it doesn't slide around when walking on it but isn't strong enough that the back of the mat rips off when I try removing the mat from the tape. They tape is good at sticking to the wood floor and was easy to remove right after. It did not leave any residue on the floor but it was only on for a few minutes so it might be different after a few years. It was however a pain to cut these with scissors as they kept gumming it up so it would not get a clean cut and it left residue on the scissors but I eventually got it off.

Works great on concert for our patio rug.

I bought this about a year ago to secure a rug on top on the carpet in my Mum's bedroom. It was so dangerous before using the tape as the rug was always curling and moving but she wouldn't let me take the rug up! The tape worked so well, the rug remained secure not moving an inch. It was so secure that I was worried about the time when I would take up the rug and remove the tape. I was sure dreadful marks would be left on the carpet. I needn't have worried. Initially it took a bit of strength to loosen the tape but once I'd started the process it came away very easily and there were no marks at all the carpet. I couldn't believe it. Excellent product, highly recommended.
