Are these strings tie-end or ball-end?

They are tie end. Because of the "special nature" of ball end strings the packages will (almost) always tell you if they are ball end. The manufacturers don't like to "surprise" their customers.

What is the difference between ej49 and ej45 strings?

EJ49 sets have black nylon treble strings; the EJ45 has clear. Hope that helps!

Are all the strings black?

E, A, D strings are bronze wound. G, B, E strings are black nylon.

Do the pro arte titanium and carbon strings come in black for the treble strings?

I have never found that they come in black. The company web site does not have them.
