Wht is the scanner resolution in dpi?

You can switch from 14 to 22 megapixels. Frankly the mediocre to poor resolution resolution makes the large file size a waste. 35mm negs are usually curved and not held flat enough to get it sharp. Individual 35mm negs (not on a strip) are totally out of focus and the negs at the end of each strip will have curl on one side which not only reduces resolution, it creates a similar effect to spherical aberration on one side

Can you push the slides through or do you have to reload the tray?

There is no tray, you push the 1st slide in. It is not in the center for the picture to show completely so you use the 2nd slide to push the 1st slide in position and after digitizing the 1st slide you continue to push the 2nd slide all the way in. The 1st slide is not yet all the way out so you push the 3rd slide in a little way so you can get the 1st slide out. Continue with all your slides. Once you do about 10-15 slides it become very routine and works well.

Is this scanner compatible with Mac?

Yes. The scanner records the images (JPG) on removable media like a camera or directly to the computer via USB cable (included). You can transfer via USB or by removing the media and transferring it that way

User experience with date function? Some reviews said only went back to 2000.

I just got mine a few days ago and when I went to play with the date this morning, it went back to 1/1/1980 but forward to 2048. As stated in another question, you can always change the dates using an image editing program, so I'm not too concerned with the date issue, although it is a pain to go 'digit-by-digit'... you can't hold-down either button and have it auto-scroll.
