Will this work for xbox one?

No an Xbox one portal will not work for an Xbox 360. The games and the portals are specific to the gaming system.

Will this work for any of the skylander games?

I ordered one that said it would work for the XBox 360 but when we got it, it didn’t...so I don’t think they work for any.

To my knowledge it will not work with Skylanders Imaginators.

Do you need action figures with portal for game to workin

The supercharger game have a special feature that you can get one character and one ride without anything. But you won't be able to play all areas of the game as you need specific element characters to play it. OBS: Keep in mind that other skylander games do not have this feature and you won't even be able to do anything without a portal and character.

Bought it for the kids for use with special pack (on clearance at local Walmart for $5). They seem to like it. Unit plugged into xbox 360. Put the 'character' on top the portal, and it was recognized by the portal as anticipated.

Love this game

Our son loves skylanders, so we bought him the superchargers game for the wii not realizing that it was only racing and no story line. Amazon saved the day though, as it is WAY cheaper to purchase the game and portal online that it is to buy a starter pack in the store. Christmas was saved!
