Pet Corrector Dog Trainer | Help Stop Unwanted Behavior | 50mL, Pack of 2

This spray can gave me the "in" I desperately needed to stop my dog from charging the fence like a maniac every time another dog walked past. I used to have to chase her and physically pull her away, stepping in front to block her or command her to stop did nothing, she was deaf and blind to it. Even if she was playing inside the dog park she would break away from play to charge the fence. People in the park knew her and laughed about how sweet she is to every dog... on the same side of the fence. I was also trying to anticipate oncoming dogs and would get her attention and hold her to prevent her from going full trigger but this was going nowhere. If I wasn't holding her, she'd go running. I figured this can was worth trying after I heard how well it got the attention of a friend's dog who had an issue with jumping on house guests. It didn't take long for a test opportunity to present. We were outside only a short time before a dog was being walked past the fence. My normally sweet dog triggered as expected and began to charge, barking madly along the way. I simply gave a quick spray into the air and she stopped cold in her tracks right in mid charge, instantly silent. She looked right at me. I immediately followed with my own command and instructed her to leave the fence. That was it for the can. At first she wanted to go to the fence but when I gave her my command she listened and now doesn't even try to go to the fence. Now I am just using rewards for her new desired behavior to help hold onto this new pattern. I still keep the can with me but so far haven't needed it with her. A note: my other dog also likes to run the fence but doesn't seem as phased by this can. I don't take any stars off though since it worked miraculously for the other dog. It did stop the male in his tracks but he decided to go back to his antics shortly after that. I'm using other techniques now to further stop his habit now that I was able to make the big first step with him and will see how that goes. I may try the can again after some time has passed, if it's still needed, so it can be a surprise again. I'm reluctant to use it around other dogs so I try to time it just right where other dogs are not nearby to get mixed messages. The sound is not unsettling to people. I'm betting the compressed air for keyboard cleaning makes the same sound.

I have too many doxies, and they basically freak out whenever a leaf moves weird outside. Squirrel in the yard, lord help it. Amazon delivery person, forget it, it's mayhem. This thing works so well I don't even need to spray it anymore - I just lift it and they stop.

Dealing with pet behavioral problems is always interesting...and challenging. We last had two poodles who barked and we managed them with frowns and "no" commands which worked well enough to appease us. A treat made them totally happy again. Now we have a year and a half aged mini schnauzer that we've had since age 12 weeks. Apparently barking is a wired in thing for Schnauzers. He perches in the living room window and barks at anything that moves or makes a sound. We've tried all sorts of things, but could not even get his attention when he fixed on some dog or person. The poor mail deliverer got it worst as Ricky snarled and leaped against the door as if he were a killer wolf. Had I been outside after a few times I would have left the mail out by the street. So I tried Pet Corrector with pessimism, especially since my spouse and I have different ideas about reward and punishment. While we are both psychology majors from college we seem to have totally different philosophies about things like excessive barking. The first time I tried Pet Corrector Ricky stopped barking and ran for the back of the house, tail down and a worried look. Same things the next two times. I had to run after him to tell him what a good dog he was, but, of course, he happily gulped down treats. Now I just grab the can and he stops barking instantly. We are rewarding good behavior when he stops barking and leaves the windows. My husband is much more lackadaisical and forgets the treats and somehow never seems to have the can nearby when he is likely to bark (but he also was shocked at the cost of one can with a small number of hisses in it so he really doesn't want to "waste" it by using it!). We have now got Ricky leaving the windows instantly with just a grumble or two and we praise that immensely. So this "hiss" remedy seems to be working. It has not made him crazy and he is not more fearful of us, although that latter was not too likely knowing how Schnauzers bond to their family. I am also surprised to see that he is now sitting, lying down and staying much more consistently. I guess he doesn't want the red "hisser" chasing him. So we are pretty happy about this product. I do think the key is following a "hiss" with generous rewards and lots of positive attention. .

This stuff really works! My husband and I can't believe a can of air can have such a positive effect on our 7mo puppy! We've been having barking issues with our puppy, a whippet/red healer mix. She barks at anyone who walks by our home on the street, our neighbors, and don't get me started on visitors. Our poor visitors. When we have people come over she begins to bark and literally won't stop, ever. And she has one of those high pitched barks that stings the ear drums. Although she is very well trained with the typical tricks, extremely smart, very good at listening and learning, and amazing with us and our kids, she gets so involved in her barking when others are around that she won't listen to us, no matter how sweet or stern we are. So, we decided to try this air in a can, and good gawd, this stuff really works!!! She begins to bark and we do one quick press on the can and she immediately stops barking, and shifts her attention to us. Giving us the ability to teach her no. She could be outside, a good 20 ft away, barking through our fence and with one press of this can, she would immediately stop barking and come directly back to us. It has only been about 3 days that we've been using this product and her barking issue is already 80% better. If someone knocks on the door, she'll let out one bark, which is completely acceptable. When we answer the door, she no longer barks at the person outside. We have not yet had a guest over to see her reaction, but I think we're on an amazing road of getting her barking under control. The price seems a little steep for some air in a metal can, but you do get two, each can has 50 shots of air, and with the response we're getting from our dog, the pricing has been completely worth it for us. It's a painless and easy way to train and/or correct puppy issues.

A miracle!!! I have two mid-size poodle mixes that are horrible barkers. Live in a condo on a cul-de-sac. When ANYONE pulls into the street they go nuts. When any car door slams in the street they go nuts. Not only does it drive me crazy, but I'm sure the neighbors hate it. After some research I bought this Pet Corrector. It arrived Friday. On Saturday morning I tried it. Neighbors getting in their car set them off - one blast and they shut up! I only had to use it two more times that day. On Sunday I used it twice - once when the neighbor behind me was starting his car, and once when a neighbor dog was barking. Immediate silence. It's like magic. I don't understand how this works, or why - but I've had the quietest weekend in years! Next I'm going to see if it stops Yuri's "Cujo" behavior when we meet up with another dog on our walk. I could not be happier so far. UPDATE: I continue to be amazed! This has absolutely corrected the barking behavior. All I have to do is say, very sweetly, "I'll get the can" and no barking! So last night I decided to try it on our walk. I take the dogs to an industrial area with several fields and let them run off leash. There are some wooded areas and Yuri has gone into those and won't come out until he's covered in mud. One night we were walking and he went in the wooded area and flushed out three deer! Anyway, last night when he got within a couple of feet of the woods I shot off the can and he immediately turned around. I have never seen anything like this. Total behavior modification!!!

Don't use this in your pocket. It releases a somewhat wet but super cold substance and turns your pocket while (but it goes away). I think it's just compressed air so it's not like a chemical or anything and hbas no smell but you should definitely only spray it in open air. The sound is less intense if held upside down so make sure it's right side up. The sound definitely seems to distract a dog but it's not so intense that they seem scared (which depending on the behavior you may want it to). I used it at the park for digging and it seemed to scare my dog enough (she is a bit of a wimp, 4yo border collie) but the other dog (a German sheperd puppy) kept going back for more after the use of this device. It probably takes prolonged usage to really see changes in behavior. There is definitely potential there but I haven't used it for a prolonged period yet. Training note: make sure to never reward your dog for stopping a bad behavior after you use this device or tell them to stop. Only reward if the dog shows restraint on their own and chooses not to partake in a bad behavior you know they want to. This device can be helpful for getting over the initial hard part of getting them to stop a behavior but unless you teach a solid "leave-it" command this will only act as a band aid. You should use this device when for really tough situations where your dog is not destractable and then in a different instance you can reward when you notice them think twice about doing it in the first place. You want the association of the behavior to be coupled with the uncomfortable noise and not a reward. Keep in mind you don't want your dog to know where the sound is coming from. Never point it in your dog's face or show them the can while I it is being used. I like to hide it behind my back. If they see the device and associate the device with the sound they will just continue the bad behavior when they don't see the device. You want to make the sound mysterious so they think no matter where or when they do this behavior this sound will happen. That said it is good to bring this with you everywhere you think the unwanted behavior could happen so they don't start associating the sound with a certain place or situation. For example if you only use it at home for barking they may still think it's okay to bark in public or at someone else's house. They need to think this sound happens any time they choose to bark and therefore will no longer want to bark because they hear this awful sound.

I have an active 10-month old German Shorthaired Pointer.. We started training him early, and he is super smart - was housebroken in one week at the age of 8 weeks old, so he trained well for most commands. Our big problems were him pulling when walked, jumping on counters, jumping and eating my coat and hats off the rack, and jumping on people. Tried formal training, and it helped just a little. Then we went to a shock collar that helped a little more, but the same issue of excitability and jumping on counters still existed. Then I got this pet corrector, and it has worked miracles. We first used it when he jumped on a counter, and he no longer jumps on the counters with no further correction needed. Then we used it when he jumped on people, and like before, it only took one or two corrections before the behavior went away. The same is true of him going after my coat and hats. It also worked wonders for walking. I start by walking him and when he pulls he gets the correction. Then when he walks without pulling and looks back at me to see if I am going to correct him, I give him a treat. This got him in the habit of looking back at me to see where I am walking, so he knows not to pull. This is a continual learning process, but the corrector did get him into the habit of looking back at me, so I can follow that up with positive reinforcement. After a few days, he now knows not to pull and to look back for guidance.

The product itself it’s great but the ad is deceptive. The picture is of 2-45g canisters but what you actually get are the smaller canisters with only 0.25 g. It’s written to make you think you are getting 2-50 ml canisters AS PHOTOGRAPHED but you’re getting the smaller size, so 50ml total for both. And the item is not returnable. Shame on them.

We have 12 year old Yorkshire Terriers who enjoy barking at most things passing our property when out on our deck. A family member shared their positive experience with this product for their much younger mix-bred dog. Who said you can't teach and old dog? The product works as described. We are enjoying a much quieter time and our dogs don't have to be constantly corrected for barking. I would recommend this product.
