Excellent pool cleaner which is easy to maintain.
My old Omeron finally quit after 6 years of hard use. I have been so pleased with how well it cleans my gunite pool that I purchase this same model as the replacement. The fine mesh filter grabs all the dirt and leaves form the pool and is very easy to clean. The filter from my 6 year old unit are still in like new so I am keeping it to do quick swaps before rinsing with the hose. I am always amazed to watch it climb the sides of the pool and clean along the tiles at the water line. My good friend who also has a pool saw mine working and decided to buy one to replace his cleaner. He is also very happy with how well this Omeron works.

In a word - AMAZING!
The first pool opening of the year usually consists of me spending the better part of an hour fishing out all of the fall and winter debris that has fallen into the pool around the cover (how that happens, I have no idea!). So when I read a review from a Dolphin product dealer, raving about the large capacity leaf bag on this model, I knew I had to give it a try. And boy am I glad I did! The initial clean was amazing but the bag did get full after vacuuming up about 90% of the leaf litter on the bottom of the pool. So I cleaned out the bag and ran it again. The pool was 100% clean from the floor, all the way up to the water line! The large capacity bag is made of a thick nylon material. So after the second pool sweep, I removed the bag, shook out the debris, and then ran it through a gentle cycle wash in my washing machine minus any fabric softener to maintain its absorbency. Worked like a charm! I also love that you can drop it in the water, leave it, and choose settings to have it run in its own everyday, every other day or every 3 days. I make sure the entire cord is in the water and just close the pool cover over it so that it can run whether I’m here or not. I choose to run it every day and just open it up and clean out the filters on the weekend. Couldn’t be happier with this purchase! Worth every penny!

DO NOT BUY-And Customer Service is Horrible
What an expensive piece of junk. The movement pattern is horrible--my unit seems to love a small area (maybe 100 square feet) of the pool near the shallow end, and almost never goes anywhere else. So there are accumulations of sand, etc. on the bottom that it simply NEVER reaches, so I actually brush the stuff into the thing's favorite places, where it MIGHT be picked up. After watching the thing work, there is simply no turning programmed into it, so it just goes back and forth for the most part, and after it comes down from the walls, it tends to come straight out, so it tends to bounce between parallel walls. I've even put a weight on the cord to try to force it to work in the deep end, and guess what it did? immediately headed for its favorite spot in the shallow end and stayed there with the cord pulled tight, like a dog straining at its leash! To be fair, it does seem to actually pick up a little dirt IF it goes directly over it. I got through to customer service once, and like their useless FAQ, it tells you to make sure your pool chemistry is in order. Are you kidding? There is simply no way pH or Chlorine level, etc., is going to fix this problem. And I only got through to them once, when the unit was fairly new. The last few times I tried, they won't answer or, like the one time I actually out-waited them on hold, I got semi-intelligible Habib in Calcutta. He said "Hello, Maytronics xxyatriffcffeethff." (joking--he was completely unintelligible after two or three words). I asked him to repeat that and HE HUNG UP after I waited on hold for about an hour. Oh yeah, somewhere along the line they got the idea that I wasn't happy, and the company sent me a code for $50 off if I wanted to buy anything else from them. There's zero chance of that. I recently saw at my pool store a simple, rechargeable vacuum-type device that fits on the end of your cleaning pole for about $69. I think I'm just going to get that and forget the stupid robots. But calling this thing a robot is an insult to robots the world over.

So simple, even a man could (probably) figure it out
Let me tell you, this Dolphin Premier Robotic Pool Cleaner is the best thing to happen to our pool since chlorine. I was bracing myself for hours of setup, reading a manual thicker than a phone book, and listening to my husband invent new curse words—but nope. Plug it in, drop it in the pool, and BOOM—sparkling clean water without the drama. It’s so user-friendly that even my husband (bless his heart) figured it out on the first try. No YouTube tutorials, no frantic Googling, no calls to tech support. I’m still in shock. This little robot zooms around like it owns the place, climbs walls like Spider-Man, and somehow manages to clean better than we ever could manually. I half expected it to start folding laundry too. If you're tired of scrubbing and skimming—and want to feel like a pool-owning genius—get the Dolphin. Bonus: you’ll finally see your spouse win a battle with technology.

Some Significant Drawbacks
I purchased this cleaner because of the hyped professional reviews and the changeable filtration media, especially the leaf bag, as my pool is surrounded by trees. Here are things I don't like: 1). The manual and instructions are truly awful, and the machine is obtuse enough that you need some instructions. It's actually a bit shocking how insufficient and nearly worthless the manual is. 2). It does not clean the steps in my pool, like at all. It works the bottoms and sides pretty well, but never comes up and cleans the horizontal surfaces of the steps, which are big enough to accommodate the unit. 3). The controller is confusing and MUST be reset at least every week. As far as I can tell, you have to tell the controller every week: yes, I want the robot to run for another week. I was surprised when I came to this realization. 4). While the large leaf bag is nice to have, swapping it in and out is not exactly hassle-free. It's enough of a chore that I tend to put it off. Emptying it is also awkward and difficult. 5). It comes with no stand or cradle of any kind. 6). It doesn't seem to be very intelligent, it just randomly runs around the pool, tending to miss spots and waterlines. For the most part, it does clean my pool better than my old Polaris 380 (or whatever I had), except for the steps. It had better last a long time, or my rating will drop further, quickly.

Broken features, no warranty
Schedule stop working within 2 weeks. Dolphin won't touch it, missing serial number. I guess they remove it when you buy a refurbished model. Cannot navigate a jelly bean shaped pool, regardless of what they advertise. Gets stuck going back and forth in the middle. Have to pick up and move if I want the shallow or deep end done. Still turns on, but I have to press the on button everyday. Waste of money This is the second Dolphin I have owned. First one just stopped working after 2 years.

Better than my previous pool vac.
Waited a year to leave a review so I can give a decent evaluation. The price is high, but with this product, you get what you pay for. Does a great job getting the tiles brushed and clean. I don’t have many curves so it gets roughly 98% of the pool clean with in 3 hours. The 90 degree corners are my only weak points it doesnt get that well. Wall climbing is no issue and works well on the pool bench steps. Just drop it in, plug it in, then power…that easy. I will say this, getting it out of the water requires some muscle and I’m starting to notice some dirt leaving the bottom and back into the pool while trying to lift it out, it’s not a lot, but definitely noticeable If anyone reading this has any recommendations to prevent this I’m all ears. Perhaps the inner springs that keep the vacuum intake closed needs to be adjusted or I may need to purchase another bottom cartridge. The three filters it comes with work well and picks up everything. Scheduling for daily/weekly clean is easy to setup and YouTube has a lot of videos showing how it’s done as well.

Pretty Good Unit
After 8 months I had some performance issues. Come to find out, the filter caddy was coming apart. I contacted Maytronics and they sent a new caddy (under warranty) and problem solved. Today for the first time, I used the leaf bag filter after a heavy storm severely contaminated the pool bottom. I was surprised how good it cleaned leaves and pine needles. I initially gave this product a poor review but am changing my rating to excellent due to continued good performance.
