KitchenTour Coffee Scale with Timer 3kg/0.1g High Precision Pour Over Drip Espresso Scale with Back-Lit LCD Display (Batteries Included)

I’ve used this identical scale for four years, though with a different brand name on it, still identical, made in China with a friendly “Hello” on the splash screen when you turn it on. After approximately 1,000 uses in four years, it suddenly died one day, lost its mind and became obviously useless. When that happened there was no doubt in my mind that I wanted to replace it with exactly the same scale because I liked the old one so much. The controls are logically laid out, the display is bright, it automatically turns itself off after a few minutes if you forget about it. I’ve tested it with standard weights and it’s precisely accurate. It’s correctly sized for its task (a coffee scale), it’s slim, light, has a removable, washable rubber mat that covers the weighing platform, and is altogether a winner in design and utility, and there’s no reason to change anything about it. When this one fails, I’ll be happy enough to buy another. It costs twenty bucks . . .

i've had it for a couple of weeks now, and i will say, it works well.calibration isn't in the instructions, but, if you hit and hold all 4 buttons when you turn it on, after it says hello, it will enter cal mode. pressing unit advances to the next screen, which is the auto shut off time. if you turn off the power, or use all 4 buttons to reset it, it does not seem to save, so you will have to purchase calibration weights in order to change it. after setting the auto shutoff, it then lists the 3000 g, which is the max weight. it seems you can change it, but i haven't tried. the next shows random numbers, seemingly the raw value of the scale sensor, then it goes through asking for a 500g calibration weight, and after that, a 2000g calibration weight. the 1000g weight doesn't seem to be necessary.after calibration, the scale seems to do pretty well with the calibration weights. weighing in the center and in the corners seem to be repeatable, although it may be a little off at the very edges or corners.the mat that goes on top of the scale has a hangover on the left side, which helps keep it in place, but it can slide up and down.using the scale to measure liquid, it seems to refresh quick enough to easily allow you to gauge when to stop, although, it may depend on how quickly you pour.one thing to note, the precision mentioned in the description. this scale is accurate to 0.1g from 0-500g, 0.5g from 501-1000g, and 1g from 1001-3000g. this isn't over the weight range of the scale exactly, but rather over the displayed weight. meaning, if you decided to weigh pour over or something, in something heavy (or a collection of things), if you tare out the weight (zero it out to measure the difference), it will still display the first 500g up to 0.1g accuracy. that makes the 3000g limit of the scale much more useful.lastly, this is a rebranded scale...many make the same scale under a different brand. i can't remember which combination of buttons it was, but if you held 2 buttons at the same time, it would bring up a muted speaker (no sound) icon, even though this scale doesn't have sound to begin with.i'm very happy with this scale. the price was good, and realizing that the 0.1g accuracy works up to 500g after taring is great. i used it to measure the water and ice in my 64 oz yeti, to figure out how much water i was actually drinking (got very close to the limit of 3000g).

So there is one problem that I have found with this unit so far, but only one, it lags in accuracy slightly. I have used the Timemore black mirror for over a year now and I find this scale to be much nicer in everyway with the one exception. It doesn't instantly measure your pour, it needs a second or less after you stop pouring to give an accurate measurement. It's usually about a gram lag and I have gotten used to dealing with it however you should upgrade your sensor to give a faster reading.Now in every other way I prefer this scale to the Timemore which is almost 3 times the price of this scale. This scale is longer with a larger area to work on making it much more comfortable to do a pour over, also this scale has a solid flat surface where the controls are meaning you will not get water into the controls. I have had it happen more than a few times with the Timemore where if some water falls on the area of the timer or tare switch they stop working temporarily. While making a pour over it is a significant problem when that happens, I don't think I will ever have that problem with this unit because there is no area for the water to penetrate.I do wish the controls gave a beep when you activated and if they made the sensor respond more quickly those would be some nice improvements. However in all for the price of this little scale you can't go wrong, I have no idea how long it will hold up as I have used it for about a month. However if it continues on as it has I see it performing well for a long while, thanks for the great scale and even better price.

It's accurate and the price is right.With that said it's annoying to use for brewing coffee (which is why I bought it). It takes forever to start up and the weight reading takes a really long time to update (like 2 sec). Which makes measuring water you're pouring in really difficult.

Great, but not waterproof and cleaning it is hard

I was a little worried when I got this scale as it looks more delicate than my previous kitchen scale (that died after 6+ years). But it’s held up quite well so far despite the not-so-careful use it’s been through. It’s lived through many milk spills, various powders being spilled on it, and being used as a platform for objects beyond its capacity.It even survived the Powdered Sugar Sifting Static Electricity Event of Fondantpalooza 2022 - it did turn off suddenly, and wouldn’t turn back on via touchscreen, but after I reset it later by taking the batteries out/putting them back in, it was back to normal! I imagine it has some sort of protective mechanism that shut it down, though I really wouldn’t try it on purpose & I'll be more cautious next time I sift ingredients on the scale.I find it responsive enough for making pourover coffee, and I’ve used the stopwatch feature a few times (though usually I want to count down). Love the 10ths of a gram. I wish the silicone mat stayed in place better, but it is easy to toss it in the dishwasher or rinse it under the faucet when it gets dirty. The touchscreen wipes easily and the design does keep most messes from getting near the important parts which occasionally need more detailed attention to clean. The bottom has sat in a spill for awhile without the battery compartment being compromised (again, not a thing I’d do on purpose, but I’ve got a 10yr old).It’s small enough to stash out of the way when needed but big enough to be easily readable with a medium mixing bowl on top.Tare function works well. It’s easy to change units. Kinda wish there was a lbs option in addition to oz but really boo to imperial measurements anyway/let’s go metric. ML is sorta silly since it’s the same as grams & assumes you’re measuring water.Overall, I’m quite pleased with this scale. It looks nice and functions well plus it’s tough enough for everyday use.

So I purchased this scale on October 28 of 2022. Today, March 27, I threw it in the trash.I purchased this scale because it was inexpensive and it had an accuracy of .1 gram. I frankly had my eye on a $250 Acaia Lunar Scale but $250 just to get the convenience of it starting on its own when it registers any weight change. Pretty neat, but can I really justify $250 for that scale.Anyway, took the road toward being a smart shopper. So I thought….The problems on this thing started around the time that 3 months passed. Always after the Amazon guarantee is gone and I’m sure that there won’t be any customer service for an item that costs $23 and is made in China. So I change the batteries and hope things’ll get better as it goes along, but no they continue.Issues like it just dying in the middle of an expresso pour so I’m left trying to guesstimate how much time has passed and how much my expresso pour weighs. Jeez, in the middle of a damn pour. So I change the batteries again.It starts up and I think—ok it just cost me $23, it’ll be ok. Things go along fine for a week or two until finally over the weekend it dies again…..in the middle of a damn pour.So I change the batteries.It doesn’t start up. Oh yes, it does……no.no. Dead! It comes on again and starts weighing something because the numbers are getting larger on there own. Maybe it’s haunted!!!! Just keeps weighing something. Then stops.I try to turn it off. I change the batteries again. Nothing. Finally just some foreign language that must be trying to tell me something. Maybe there’s someone inside who’s been captured by the scale elves and trying to send me a message for help.Oh well what did I really expect for $23. It can be entertaining I guess…sending script and weighing thin air. That’s fun, but it’s not fun or useful as an expresso coffee scale.In the garbage!!! Really glad to see it go. Guess what I have today. I’ll give you a clue-it cost $250.

3 years in, this scale was well worth the $23 cost . Still works flawlessly. I use it multiple times per day for coffee and cooking. Honestly if it had been twice that much it would have been worth it. Partially because of the price point, I don't know if I could come up with a complaint if I had to give one.

I won't talk about accuracy cause i have no tools to test that. But it's a nifty little scale i use for coffee. Wether it is for pour overs, or simply to weight coffee before grinding... it's really nice and seems super consistent. There is one thing i would improve on... to me, this seems like a perfect product for left handed people. The way the display shows the information currently should be reversed. let me explain. The timer fonction is on the left side of the display... the weight is on the right side of the display. Having a coffee beans bag in your right hand pouring the coffee on the scale, i'm hiding with the bag the weight display... this is annoying ! I find myself having to hunch over the scale to see the weight constantly !! Finally, the design is really nice. It's an item i'm really ok leaving on my kitchen counters. For the build quality, of course, it's mostly plastic... but for the price, can't complain.

Looking for a replacement of my old scale and this fits the bill well.

This scales is really good its very acurate and looks nice and sleek the touch buttons are very nice and responsive and its perfect for espresso i have used this a few times now for making espresso and its really nice to use the built in timer is very handy to have for brew ratios as you can see from the photos i used a 1:2 ratio i put 19 grams of coffee in and got 38 grams out in 27 seconds so it works great for making espresso and id highly reccomend this scales its really good
