This is the resinous form of the spice. It is unbelievably strong so unless you want your house to constantly smell of it then I'd recommend keeping the container in a tightly sealed jar and opening outside when you need a crumb for cooking. When it first arrived I could practically taste the smell, it was so strong. On the plus side, lasts ages and isn't cut with fennel or corn starch, like many other suppliers of the powdered form.

It's authentic, made my curry dishes very tasty. Good value for money, simply the best. There is nothing to dislike about it. Thank you so much for this real rare treat.👍😊

This is the pure stuff, not mixed with anything else like hing powder. The problem is my husband can’t stand the smell and I have to keep it locked away until he’s out of the house. Adds a delicious extra to all curries.

I have been using Asafoetida powder form, but after using this granules i can smell and taste the difference. description of the product is exactly what it says. Only issue is very pricey for such a small quantity.

This is being sold as Pure Asafoetida. It is not. It is cut with wheat. The sellers are highly unethgical here as theya re charging well above market rates for a product that is not pure, but they are marketing it as such. Do not buy it unless you want top spend a lot of money and do not ahve a gluten issue. I have! So not impressed!

This brand of hing is an extraordinary product. A rice size grain will flavor an entire dish. Anyone who enjoys Desi dishes should stop buying the cheap powder available in most Indian markets and buy this product. The aroma is stunning and somewhat akin to truffles. If you want to make an authentic dish of moong dhal or Tamil style potatoes then this is for you.

This is very very strong! Arrived in a box which held a small plastic container. Inside the plastic container was a small plastic bag holding the granules. I could smell the product before I opened any box, container or plastic. I have transferred the granules to an air tight container (glass jar). Hopefully that will keep the aroma trapped in the jar. I tried mixing one granule about the size of a grain of rice into baked beans. This was too much! Needs to be a lot less. Impressive really. Hopefully will work with low FODMAP diet as recommended. This product has no gums or rice flour (a lot of other brands have gums and flours. The product is also labelled "gluten free."
