Xfinity Digital Transport Adapter Remote Control

I can't speak to the longevity of this product as I just received it. But it's the exact remote I was given 10 years ago and that one has been an excellent product and still works almost perfectly. I was very happy with this purchase because it arrived quickly, was packed appropriately with a copy of the original usage guide that I wasn't given with the one Xfinity gave me. The best thing was I didn't need the guide yet because it worked right out of the package. Put in the batteries and 🧞‍♀️shazam!!🧞‍♂️ no programming, no problems, no brain power needed! Thank you!😇 Update: Since the original review: I can speak to the longevity now. Remote continues to work perfectly. Also, I recommended it to 2 people who also have one that is working great. Like other reviewers I'm grateful for the appropriate cost and not having to contact the original company. All 3 of ours came with batteries, programming guide and worked right out the package.💃🏇🧞‍♂️🤸‍♀️🤸‍♂️🤸‍♀️😃

I called Comcast to inquire about a new remote and was connected to somebody named "Harry" from either India or Mexico. That call was a vacuum cleaner ride to hell and back. After being put on hold for several times, I decided to check Amazon for this remote, and lo and behold, they have it. Comcast wanted to bill me $5.95 on my monthly bill for the shipping charges for the new remote. Then I was told I had to take the old one back to the nearest Comcast service center, which in my case is 35 miles away. I told "Harry" that and he told me that I could take it to the nearest UPS office and ship it back to them. I asked him if they supply a prepaid shipping label and after putting me on hold again for another 3 minutes, he said no. While I was on hold for the last time, I told Harry that I wouldn't need a new remote from him, and that I just bought a new on Amazon. He still asked me if I wanted the new remote from Comcast, and I told him no. The remote works great and even comes with batteries. Pretty easy to program to your TV. This is the very same remote that Comcast uses. And you can get it on Amazon without all the hassle of Comcast.

Works fine as a replacement

So, I am the mother of two teenage boys. I don't know what goes on in the mind of a teenage boy, but occasionally I discover the strangest things that are put in the refrigerator or in a waste basket. I'm not sure if they are simply not paying attention to what they are doing while they are having conversations, but I have found car keys, cell phones, remote controls for the TV and for the Xbox 360, you name it, in the oddest places. My oldest son was home from college for the summer and lost his remote to the Comcast cable box for his TV, thus rendering the TV to be useless to watch anything else but ESPN. After looking everywhere in the house for weeks, I decided that it had to have been thrown away. I did not want to wait for hours at the local Comcast office to purchase another remote control, so by chance I decided to look on Amazon to see if they carried anything like this. I was shocked to find the identical product, and even more surprised by the price. As soon as I took it out of the package and inserted the batteries, it was ready for use. I wish I would have thought about looking for this on Amazon months earlier.

Unfortunately not all of the buttons work on the new remote. The following buttons do not work: Power button Mute button Volume up &Volume down I tested the batteries that came with the remote; one was fine; the other was low. So I put new batteries in the remote. The above listed buttons still didn't work . I am returning the remote.

This purchase is one of the reasons I ABSOLUTELY LOVE AMAZON! Comcast wanted to take me through so many changes to get a remote control replacement that I wanted to scream! It suddenly occurred to me, "Check on Amazon!" and sure enough, I was able to buy 2 remotes for under $20! They work perfectly for my Hitachi and Vizio flat screen tvs but I am unable to turn off my TV using the Comcast remote for the Hitachi. I'm wondering if I need to try another code or something. Great buy!

We have several TV's on cable in a vacation home that used to be in a rental program. The remotes did not always work well & were looking a little worn, and since we no longer rented, we wanted to replace them. So we contacted the cable company & they wanted like $30 for a new one that we would not even own. Looked online & voila-- exact same remote (even branded for Xfinity) at a third of the price. Came with easy instructions for coding in and works great. Winner, winner.
