Do you have to use bannana plugs with these or can you use just wires?

I bought banana plugs but didn't use them because you have to take a plastic plug out. it's easier to use the spring loaded connection on them and stripped wire. You won't regret getting these speakers.

What size mounting bolt fit the threaded hole on back? The mounting bolt on my universal stands is too small
