Every dog is different, but this spray is effective for our Corgi puppy!
It would appear that this product can be hit or miss depending on how your dog does (or doesn't) react to it. With that being said, it has been effective for our Pembroke Welsh Corgi puppy. She is 5 months old now and we have been using it over the course of the last 2 months to help discourage her from biting certain spots in our home while she is teething. It is by no means a cure all. When it has been recently applied, she sniffs and walks away. If she goes so far as to try and bite the spot (which is rare) she does not return to it. We find that it needs to be reapplied after a day or two depending on the surface/material as she will often find her way back to these spots after some time has passed. She can be a bit stubborn and is not always easily discouraged, so we use it more as an on the spot remedy to help keep our furniture and belongings safe than a long term deterrent by association. Over the course of two months she has not developed a taste or tolerance for it so it continues to be an effective tool while she is teething.

Unlikely to be effective for Labs; if you own a Lad, you know why... . :-/
I'll give this four stars because it showed up in good order and I'm sure it works for some breeds. We purchased it in hopes it would keep our cat from chewing up power cords, and the jury is still out on that. However, I now recall trying this or a similar product 25 years ago with the same result we saw today: To a Labrador, it's "Eew, that smells bad; argh, it tastes bad, too." Within 10 minutes though, it becomes a case of "O.K., I'll put up with it to continue the standard Lab M.O. - "How do I know it's inedible unless I try?"

Pretty Amazing Stuff!!
I have a cat who is about seven months old. I love him to death but unfortunately I spoiled him soo much so that he developed some pretty bad habits. Habits like constantly jumping up on counters and tables and drinking out of our cups. The worst habit he had was biting. When he was a little little kitten this didn't hurt much but as he started to get bigger he bit alot harder. It got to the point where he would just savagely bite me for as best I could see no reason at all. When I say that nothing I tried worked I mean NOTHING worked. I was really at my wits end. I had scars all over my arms and even legs and my husband started talking about taking him to a shelter. We both love him to pieces and he's a good cat he just really needed some form of discipline that worked. A friend of mine who has a dog suggested that I try Grannicks Bitter Apple spray so I bought it. The shipping was fast and I liked how they sealed the caps with tape to make sure the bottles didn't leak. At first I wasn't sure that it worked. I used it on him after he jumped up on the counter and wouldn't get off. I sprayed him with it (never spray it in your pets face!) several times before he jumped off. But he definitely didn't like the smell and refused to lick it off of himself. He learned very quickly that anytime he did something he wasn't supposed to that I meant business when i said "NO" and picked up the bitter apple spray. I didn't even have to spray it as soon as I uncaped the bottle he runs off because he HATES the smell and doesn't want it on him. Now his behaviour is much better and the biting has really been reduced. He rarely bites now and if he does it doesn't draw blood like it used too. I'm really happy with this! I know alot of people use this on their dogs but it worked on my cat!

Great product, well worth the price.
Great for training the dog not to chew on things it should not chew on. Our puppy German Shepherd never chews on anything she's not supposed to now, all problems ended around 18 months and she's 4 years old now, perfect behavior around the house. I've personally recommended this to friends.

Works great
My puppy began chewing on our furniture legs and certain areas of out baseboards. This product really works and her chewing quickly stopped after a couple applications. Highly recommend.

Sometimes works, sometimes doesn't, it really depends on the dog!
Probably a good product in most cases, but it really does depend on the dog!!! This worked great to keep my Border Collie from licking his fur, so it was worth purchasing. My Shiba Inu/Husky mix licked his paws anyway like the bitter taste wasn't even there. It's worth a try unless you have a really compulsive licker.
