Needs audio interface/ mixer.
It's is full metal build, feels heavy in hand. Captures sound in detail definitely built for broadcast quality. But it needs an audio interface to work, which is almost as costly as the mic itself.

Bright, Crisp & A Delight To The Ears!
So finally after a long wait i have the Rode PodMic, the much anticipated microphone from Rode primarily meant for podcasting and spoken word, although i am no pro or an audiophile and doing voiceovers, etc is just a hobby i still purchased this microphone because, hey, who does not want to sound good!I would start by saying that this microphone was very rarely available even on amazon and is in great shortage around the world due to high demand, and i definitely know why after using it myself. Its an awesome microphone with the perfect clarity, brightness and an amazing feel to it, not to forget how elegant and classy it looks! It looks just like those radio broadcasting microphones and is built very sturdily, the entire construction is metal, it weighs almost around 1kg and feels pretty solid. The microphone comes with its own mount and man does it look beautiful! (Yes, i can say it again & again). After recording a few samples i definitely can say that this mic has a great presence and would benefit almost everyone doing podcasts or other spoken word applications, its crystal clear audio is its highlight and trust me nothing, absolutely nothing can beat it at this price point. Kudos to Rode for creating such a wonderful product! I can safely say...i am a fan of the PodMic!!

The Right Microphone for Podcasters and Voice-Over Artists
I absolutely love this mic, it has completely transformed the way my voice sounds on podcasts and voice-overs—it’s warm, clear, and has that rich broadcast tone you'd expect from much more expensive microphones. It feels incredibly solid and well-built, with a heavy all-metal body that screams quality. I’m using it with an audio interface, and once it's properly dialed in, the sound is crisp with minimal background noise, even in a less-than-perfect room. No need for an external pop filter either—the built-in windscreen does a great job.If you're confused about which microphone to get, check this out.First let's look at Dynamic vs. Condenser Microphones**Dynamic Microphones*** Great for podcasting, voice-overs, and live performances* Handle loud sounds well and are less sensitive to background noise* Very durable and can take a beating* Don't pick up fine audio details as clearly as condenser mics* Example: Rode PodMic**Condenser Microphones*** Best for studio vocals, singing, or acoustic instruments* Very sensitive and capture more detail and high frequencies* Can easily pick up room noise, echoes, or background sounds* Usually require phantom power from an audio interface or mixerNow let's check out USB vs. XLR Microphones**USB Microphones*** Plug directly into your computer's USB port* No extra equipment needed—great for beginners* Usually limited to using one mic at a time* Less flexibility to upgrade your setup later* Example: Blue Yeti**XLR Microphones*** Use professional 3-pin XLR cables and require an audio interface or mixer* Provide better sound quality and more control over audio settings* Allow you to upgrade different parts of your setup over time* Require more setup, but offer better long-term value and performance* Example: Rode PodMic with Focusrite Scarlett SoloI hope this helps :)

Great Sound Quality and Robust Build Quality
One of the most happy purchases if have ever did. The build quality is robust and solid. The sound quality is amazing. Please note that inside the box is the mic only so you will need to purchase XLR cable, Mic Stand and audio interface to convert the analog signal from the mic to digital signal into your computer.

High quality mic
Versatile Rode mic with a very solid build quality. Great for podcasting or any other voice audio recording. Built to last and it definitely feels that way. Do note that it’s a heavy device, and a stand has to be purchased separately. Also note that it requires a separate cable with an XLR female connector.
