As an average sized guy, I took the advice of other reviews and ordered a size up (large) and it fits fine. Shoulders are slightly smaller than the average jacket so maybe I could have gone another size up, I don't know but I never expected it to be active wear to begin with. It may not be comfortable for movements more demanding than waving at your neighbor, enthusiastically shouting at Jimmaaayy, or grabbing your car keys but it's perfectly fine for that security blanket, not looking like a total bum, having something over your plain t-shirt type of deal. Overall, I am satisfied, however, be warned: the color of this jacket both the blue and the orange is much darker than it is in the picture so heads up on that. It might be a deal breaker for anyone expecting it to be as blue as in the photo but since I typically wear black jackets, it was an okay pill to swallow... although I was hoping to brighten my wardrobe a bit and cheer up my gargoyles.
