4" Desktop Hand Held Call Bell - Polished Brass Finish

This little bell is a great reminder, dinner is ready with out yelling or having to call. We love em. Small size but not a toy and lovely to look at out on the counter. Very traditional.

It's really small, the clapper is a very stuff wire with a very small washer looped at the open end so it doesn't freely move when picked up to ring. I would not recommend this if you really want a bell that rings! I should have returned it!

I bought this to be part of a Christmas present, Here's what is nice about it: Has a sweet tinkle ring and the brass looks nice, uniform and shiny Here's what was bad, the little filial piece that screws into the very top of the handle was missing and it was too late to try to replace it. I had to find a tiny silk flower to glue into the hole. It is really plain....no etching patterns at allI bought a second 4" bell from this same company and it was gorgeous/flawless, a prettier shade of brass and had real character with etching and other decorative designs on the body as well as the handle and they were both the same price.

Sounds exactly as you hope it will -- a subtle but pronounced "ding!," not too sharp and brassy. Basically, it's not an annoying bell and works well in settings where you want to get one's attention, not warn of impending doom.

Smaller than the others I bought so the ringtone is not as melodious but works fine.

I bought this bell to be a calling-for-help-alarm. The bell is really small and rings very softly. I will buy a real bell for myself and I gave this one to my two year old baby, the size is perfect for her hands. If you are buying a toy, this bell is for you. If you need people to hear it, you might research more.
