CYCPLUS GPS Wireless Bike Computer M1, 2.9" LCD Screen, IPX6, 1200mAh

I started recording my rides with Strava last year using a mount for my smartphone. I figured why buy a smart computer when I already have something capable? The drawbacks soon became apparent - 50 miles into a ride with gps and my phone was down to 15-20% battery. If I take any longer rides I risk being stranded with a breakdown somewhere with no phone. Then I took a fairly minor spill, while nothing was damaged my phone easily could have been. That's when I came across this great little computer. I'm not a stat freak, I just like to keep track of my rides on Strava to note my improvement over time. Something like a Garmin or Wahoo seemed like overkill for me, but I couldn't sync my rides with Strava with most of the cheap options. This is a great middle ground - a simple gps tracker that can upload rides to my phone. Setup was fairly easy so long as you read the manual. If using a speed sensor (my ANT+ sensor paired almost instantly) there is one thing to note. The manual says to enter wheel diameter in mm, but it means wheel CIRCUMFERENCE. The default setting of 2096 should tip you off, but just in case. I've only been riding with this for a week, but it has hit the sweet spot. It is easy to read with large numbers while on a ride, and the buttons are easy to find while riding without looking away from what's ahead of you. I have had no issues with accuracy so far, riding on cloudy days through the occasional wooded area. Rides are pretty easy to sync once you have the Xoss app, which can be setup to automatically sync to Strava as well as looking at ride data through the app itself. Battery life has been great so far, the quoted figures seem to hold up. This is a great computer as long as you understand what you're getting. A simple, affordable computer to record ride data and sync it with your apps. There is no navigation and it doesn't connect to show you phone notifications - which I consider a plus as I'm less distracted on rides, but could be an issue for some. This is exactly the sort of computer I'm looking for, and allows me to keep my smartphone safe in my saddlebag.

Recently purchased a used (2015) bike with a power meter so I needed a bike computer to connect and send power readings. Did not want to spend $200 -$500 for one from the “name brand” companies. This Cycplus unit seems well made and has a sturdy feel. Comes with a rubber (silicone?) cover which gives it a non slip grip and sleek matte black finish. Came mostly charged but plugged it in to charge it before syncing devices. Don’t know how long a full charge takes. Instructions are a bit sparse as others have said. Buttons to change settings one the bottom edge are stiff but positive enough. Screen is clear and numbers are big enough to read even in bright sunlight. My bike had a Garmin mount which this unit fit perfectly. Synced to power meter and heart rate monitor very quickly. Spin crank and 4-5 rotations later. Cadence and power readings show up. Heart rate shows up once you are close enough to computer. I installed my old Cateye V3 computer to compare values. Cadence and speed 100% match Distance which is via GPS within 1-2 miles match over 30 mile ride Ride time seemed to be off a little but not sure yet. I believe the ride time pauses if you stop mid ride. My old computer did not do that Heart rate accuracy is a function of the sending device but it was mostly on point Does not calculate calories burned. So I have to track that on Map My Ride app Other entertaining readings are grade incline positive value for uphill or negative value for downhill. Max and average values as well as a few other data points I don’t use. For the money you get a ton of information which has made my rides more informative and fun I did not want to have GPS turn by turn info so this was not an issue for me.

If you are looking for a cycle computer that provides you with some basic metrics, can connect wirelessly to other devices, and won't break the bank... you should try this one. The display is large and clear. The battery lasts a long time before requiring a charge (months for me, but I don't ride that much). It is not touch screen and the buttons are a bit hard to get to while you are riding... but otherwise, it is a good value. The displayed speed seems consistently accurate with my Garmin watch, which is pretty good, but it does seem to jump a bit around. Maybe a better speed smoothing algorithm?

I had purchased this device four years ago and the mount on back of the computer wore out. I bought a new one and found that the speed did not work after I downloaded the firmware (v1.37) via the XOSS app. The tech support for this computer via email is great. The tech support email is in the user's manual. I got an email within 12 hours. He stated that they no longer support the XOSS app and now support CycPlus Fit app. Once I added this app and downloaded the latest firmware to the computer, it worked. Overall, this computer does everything I expect and it's reasonably priced. I really like the recording capability and the downloads of the rides I have completed. I just wish the mount on the back of the computer was a replacement part.

Well, it does the essentials. Caveats: - the "now" speed fluctuates because is it instantaneous, so the random inaccuracy inherent in GPS is obvious. A 2- or 3-second average would be stable. - Phone bluetooth connects to the device but not to the app. - "now" gradient is useless and wrong. - "now" GPS altitude is reasonable accurate, and is not instantaneous. - display is not reconfigurable. - temperature is wrong -- 6-8 degrees F high. The thermocouple should have airflow so as not to reflect the case temp, and should be accurately calibrated at the factory. - UTC is shown on the clock, and "settings" does not offer time zones.

I was happy with this computer when I first took it out of the box. It seemed well made and supported many functions that I want. But it included 3 black rubber bands that I didn’t remember seeing in the product description. The first thing I did was read the manual to get familiar with it. Everything looked good. But then I got to page 4 with the mounting instructions: CYCPLUS computer mount (need to buy separately) I went back and read the product description carefully, figuring that I must have missed that. No. The description says nothing about needing a separate mount. They do not leave you with no way to start using the computer right away. Page 4 also shows how to use the 3 rubber bands to hold the computer to the bike handle bars. They have got to be kidding. Using rubber bands is not an acceptable solution. So I will now order a bike mount and use the rubber bands until it arrives. I knocked off 2 stars without even using the computer. I do not like this kind of surprise.

My needs are simple so this worked for me with no added components or software. My previous bike computer was a wireless that used a sensor and magnet that always gave me trouble so I finally replaced it and I'm glad I did. I really only need speed, distance, odometer and clock and all of that works with no sensors or cables. I've been using this for over a month on daily rides and only one time it took about 10 minutes to get satellite reception. I ride quite a bit in wooded areas and I have never had an issue with reception in those situations. I've read other reviews that claim the speed and distance are not accurate but to be fair no GPS device is great at reading speed and distance, especially at slow speeds. Here's what I like: - Large screen size - Screen is easy to read day or night - Backlight works great - Rechargeable and has good battery life - The included mount works great for me - Gamin mount will work if you have one - Easily removeable to charge or take with you - No wires or sensors for basic use What I don't like: - The clock is too small and hard to read - I haven't figured out how to reset the ODO - GPS in general isn't the most accurate and won't work indoors.

Does the work for me because its my first bike computer and its way better than using a phone.
