ZOOB 250-Piece Set

Zoobs are a good addition for any builder. My son LOVES to build, we have lots of different building sets. We now own three sets of Zoobs. This one, the 75 piece, and the fast track. This set gives you plenty to start with and maybe not even add further to. The 75 piece is a little small for a starter. The fast track is nice to add wheels to an existing set. pros- Zoobs are really great, you can build tons of things, they move, they are chunky which helps little hands. They are a different type of building toy at a really great price and go on sale often. The zoobs stay together and do not fall apart unless you are trying to dismantle it, this is great for builders that might knock their piece over. The clicking noise the toy makes when moving or bending is perfect for kids and not annoying to adults. This toy appeals to all age levels. The mini booklet of ideas has a very cool and detailed dinosaur build in it and it shows you how intricate the zoobs can be, we are still on necklaces and cell phones. :) Cons- The container with this set is top heavy so spills happen. The toy is a little tough to pull apart. It is not as hard as trying to get a little tiny Lego off another Lego, but it is a little tough. Children will get the hang of it just like they did when they started pulling apart Legos. You should try this toy if you are looking for a new building set. We have Magformers, superstructs, Tinkertoys, quercetti, all different Legos, wedgits, and blocks. These are up there on the list of toys my 5 and 7 year old will play with. They did not fall flat as some other building toys did. Great gift too.

So to give some background, our family has a wide range of LEGO sets, a few Superstructs sets, K'NEX, and a ZOOB Junior set. As most people with children probably know, it helps to rotate among the toys. I decided to invest in the regular ZOOB and chose this set for the number of pieces. You see, you really need a fair number of pieces to do anything really interesting with ZOOB. That said, I think this set gives you the best value. It also comes with a fairly good number of instructions to get you started. As for ZOOB itself, I think it's a great product. The plastic is very high quality. Snapping them together is very satisfying (but that might just be me...ha). And it allows for another dimension of creativity. I have also found that ZOOB seems a bit easier and interesting for younger kids than K'NEX and Superstructs.

These are almost as much fun for my husband and me as for our kids. There are a ton of parts here and many more sets available. They come with lots of fun, creative idea booklets as well. My only warning is the instructions are not terribly easy to follow. Basically they are pictures with arrows, and two dimensional pictures for a three dimensional project doesn't always work well. The more complicated projects take a serious amount of time and will definitely need some assistance from mom and dad for younger and maybe even slightly older kids (our are 6 and 9 and still needed a good amount of help, the 6 year old in particular had a lot of trouble putting the pieces together but it is for older kids). But once assembled the toys can move and interact in a way that other building set just can't.

We bought these for our 5 year old son on his birthday. It's been two months and he still loves to play with them. This is great for kids who love to build and enjoy the challenges of building. My son is big on building things - he started with Mega blocks a 1, Lego Duplo blocks at 3, the smaller Lego blocks and Magna Tiles at 4, and Lego Hero Factory and Zoob at 5. we've always encouraged him to learn how to build on his own. There was a little bit of a learning curve at the beginning since these connect differently then blocks, but he figured it out. He's built the t-rex, mtorcycle, bug, crown from the instructions as well as his own stuff. He also plays independently. So, if this sounds like the kid you're thinking of getting these for, go for it! If the child isn't quite ready for independent play, you might not want to get these unless you're ready to constantly help them wit these. Pros: -Nice colorful instructions with varying levels of difficulty so the kids can gradually grow in their building skill -Many different attachment possibilities -Fairly sturdy pieces. None have broken so far -Can make accessories for pretend play -Good amount of pieces to build with -pieces are large enough that littles toddlers can't swallow. We have a 14 month toddler who would put them in her mouth. Pieces are about 5/8" x 2". Cons: -Storage container may be cute and strong, but not shaped for optimal storage and has sharp edge. We quickly moved the set to a store bought box. Maybe the coainer can serve as a narrow trashcan. -Pieces require a considerable amount of force to click together. Thus it is not appropriate for kids 5 and under. They may get their fingers pinched ( happened to our 3 year old). -

I purchased the Zoobs as a gift for my grandson. This order was the eighth order for them. I have purchased 4000 pieces of zoobs. My grandson loves them but they break to easily, which is why i have purchased so many.

This product was ordered for my son who played with it in a school setting. He came home really excited about it and asked us to order. He loves building and often builds using Lego. The package came quickly, and was relatively cheap once I applied my Amazon Reward Points and the coupon that was available. The plastic bin the product comes in in a good size. Inside the container there are red, green, yellow, blue and gray builders. The builders are a solid plastic. They are soft enough that you can bend the tips a bit when fitting the balls into the sockets, but not soft enough to easily bend. It is not hard to snap together the pieces, only a small amount of force is needed to join and unjoin them. There are tons of configurations and ways to design using these blocks. there are also peices that you can combine in the center, as well as 4 way connector peices.

This is a pretty cool toy since the colorful pieces snap together and one can create really neat masterpieces. However, both adults and kids should beware that the pieces do pinch when snapped together. It may also be challenging for the younger kids to have the proper muscle strength to push the pieces into a snapping fit. I know my 6-yr old daughter had trouble and wound up pinching herself a few times. It seems that the pieces were a bit stiff at first being brand new, so after playing with it, they would snap more easily into place. Nevertheless, the 250-piece set is a great starter set, plus it comes with a booklet on how to build the various types of combinations (e.g. bike, dino, bug, etc...). All in all, an educational toy IMO, but better suited for the older kids.

We love these. I thought 250 would be more than enough, but find with all four kids playing with them, we still need more. Go with at least the 250 piece set or you will wish you had more. The kids are loving playing with these. They want to keep everything they build and we have to encourage them to take their creations apart so that they can build more. We take pictures of what they made so they don't feel it is lost forever and then are ok with taking them apart. Some designs are difficult to make for my five year old, so he has his sisters help him with anything that requires three pieces be put onto one. I even have a difficult time with that, but the older ones seems ok with it. My husband and I have just as much fun with building with these as the kids. It is the first thing friends go to when they come over. I just asked what my 5 year old to review this and he said, "They are so cool. I love them."

My grandson has Autism I've been purchasing these for 5 years for him to construct guys as he calls them. Easy to click together and flexable Brilliant colours! He sleeps with these every night
