I love this elegant little clock! Waking up joyfully to a beloved hymn is the best way to start your day! We thought the clock was broken at first because we couldn't get a song to play - with no instructions given about that. Here's how to do it: After setting the alarm, press down the gold bar and the song will play when the alarm goes off. Press the gold bar again to turn the song off.

I bought this for my young son in the hope that waking up to something pleasant would help jump-start his day, compared to the annoying alarm that jarred him awake and left him irritable. This has done the trick. There are 4 melodies to choose from based upon traditional hymns: In the Garden, Amazing Grace, Jesus Loves Me, and What A Friend We Have in Jesus. The volume is adjustable and loud enough to wake him, and can be set at 10 minute intervals (ex: 7:00, 7:10, 7:20, etc.). As such the alarm time is not as flexible as a digital ( 7:13 is not an option), and there is no snooze button for second chances-- it is either on or off. Still, it works for our purposes and I am happy with the purchase.

I've been using this clock for over a month, and like it a lot. The chiming tunes are easy to wake up to. The volume adjusts to very loud, I have it on lowest volume, and that wakes me, I am an average sleeper. The dial is easy to read from across the room, better than most clocks this size. The hands glow well at night, I can tell at a glance the time, but they don't light up the room at all. The clock is a good size for a small night table, yet large enough to read easily. I especially like that it is easy to turn on and off the alarm by just lightly pressing the gold bar on top. I looked a long time for just the right clock, and this is IT!

Maybe this was supposed to be a faux birdseye woodgrain. Um, not. I was reluctant to buy a plastic housed clock in this price range, but thought I could overlook the aesthetics. Unfortunately, the aesthetics were not the only disappointment. The hymns have a wind-up music box sound quality. Surprisingly "tinny." I have returned this purchase.

This is a pricey alarm,but waking up to a "joyful" noise in the mornings is worth it. I had a Moonbeam clock for years and liked that I could wake up to a flashing light versus a loud - annoying beep but it gave out not too long ago and the reviews on the newer versions sere not so good. I decided to try this and really enjoy the delightful music. I almost don't want to shut off the alarm! Hope it lasts a long time...and how neat that it offers a selections of songs. Great product!

Overall, the clock has a nice look but it is not suitable for bedroom for two reasons. First, it does not have light where you can see the time at night when you wake up. Second, it is a ticking clock which causes some noise especially when trying to sleep. I have decided to move it out from the bedroom due to its noise. I am not satisfied with this product because I bought it for the bedroom but now I realized it does not serve this purpose anymore.

I purchased this for my Mom and she loves it. I was a little surprised to find out it only runs on batteries, but that has it's pros and cons. If we lose power we do not have to worry about the alarm not working, it does not bother my mom a bit. There are 4 different hyms to choose form and the sound of the chimes is very pretty and suttle.

I have been looking for an alarm clock that doesn' t have a loud sharp beeping alarm sound. I found it, this is the best alarm clock ever! I wake up in pure bliss. There is a different feeling waking up to nice soothing music, my whole day turns out better.
