I had installed regular batteries in my "hot shot" and noticed the case got extremely hot. When I removed the batteries, 2 had started melting on the covering. I went to Amazon and found these batteries which are made for the cattle prod. They work! Not only do they stay cool, they also give the cow more incentive to get up. Don't throw your money away on cheaper batteries. I highly recommend these batteries for your hot shot!
