I was a bit worried this might not be sturdy enough because gooseneck style microphone stand extensions I've used before have been pretty weak. I was surprised by how much force it too to bend this, and the photo I've included shows it holding a 10 pound dumbbell which didn't cause it to bend at all. For my intended use, it might actually be inconvenient, as it will require two hands to bend and then straighten it back out. But for people that need some to hold a device it place this could be the perfect option.

I thought I was getting a deal but as they say you get what you pay for. The Ram mounts version is rubber over a metal body. I don’t think this would have happened with the OEM version. It kept slipping with the Ram mounts joint clamp even though they are supposed to be the correct size. Eventually this happened.

This extension came in very handy and I am able to bend it into an almost 3/4 loop. It was a great deal for my dashboard mounting. I am using it with a Bullitpoint mount and it works perfect to mount my dash cam right on my dashboard.
