Every fish tank owner will need this to help maintain your tanks. This provides the start up and stability within your tank upon refilling the rank, or adding water back in your tank to keep the tank full.

This product isn't magic, but it works well and I've been using it for freshwater aquariums for many years.A few days ago I bought a fresh bottle for a new setup, and when I removed the plastic cap I noticed that the safety seal was bulging out from the bottle. I poked it gently with a finger and the entire seal removed itself explosively from the bottle with a sound like a firecracker, flying into my eye. I'm unharmed--I doubt a flying safety seal could ever really hurt anyone--and I'm choosing to take this as a positive sign that there's a healthy bacterial culture in the bottle. Just a word of warning against unpleasant surprises for others who purchase this during warm times of the year. I'm not sure Amazon is storing these at an appropriate room temperature.

Doesn't seem to last for long. It'll do great for my tank to seem like it's cycled for about a week until everything is off again and then I try to come back. It's weird maybe it's a temporary chemical change but it doesn't seem to stick. I'm following all the rules about not washing my filter media and tap water and doing things to maintain the balance of the tank and not overfeeding etc etc. I'm giving it 4 stars because it's literally the only thing I've been able to do to even come close to cycling a 3 gallon tank. 💔

I used this while getting my tank ready for new fish, and it seemed to help speed up the cycling process. The instructions were clear and easy to follow. I still tested my water to check that it was ready before adding fish.

works great for starting your fish-in tank cycle. I’ve learned that you really need to add it everyday when starting a tank from scratch until you continue to see 0 ammonia and nitrites. my fish are happy and thriving largely due to this stuff. pairs great w API Stress Coat water conditioner! highly recommend for new tanks.
