Pricey but worth it!
I'm an avid user of home assistant and IoT, hence the reasoning for looking at connected devices. Appreciate this is pricey and requires its own proprietary hub, but the piece of mind that no matter where you are, you'll get an alert if an alarm goes off to me is worth it.It also routinely tests the network and system to ensure all is working as expected. Super easy to install with various sized holes in the plate for drilling, and then just twist and lock the alarm which automatically turns it on.Had for a number of months now and no issues with connectivity or false alarms, also connected to a FireAngel CO alarm and an upstairs FireAngel smoke alarm which will all trigger each other if alarming.I would like to see an API for integration into Home Assistant / Home Kit etc. But can't fault the product. You pay for what you get, and in this case its a very reliable and first-class alarm which shouldn't be compromised

Good seller.
Good quality, exactly as described. Easy to use and easy to connect with the rest of the alarms already in the house. Tested regularly and still going strong.

Simple, looks smart and easy to install
The Fire Angel Pro Connected devices are smart looking and fairly easy to install. If you just have the alarms, they all connect to each other wirelessly, so if one alarm goes off, they all do. You can add an extra alarm to the system easily by pressing the tiny button on the new device with a paper clip, then immediately pressing the test button on one of the other alarms in the system. So it’s very easy (if a little noisy) to add to the system if you want/need to.The units are supplied with 2 screws to attach to the ceiling, but I used self adhesive magnetic plates to allow for easy removal if required. The gateway links the system to the internet and adds Alexa compatibility if that floats your boat. Alexa integration is fairly basic - basically test and silence the alarms, but you can schedule alarm tests. More useful is the notifications from the app if there is an issue. It will notify you which alarm is triggered, or if there is a fault (such as the power going out).Overall pretty good, and most importantly, meets the new Scottish requirements.

Awful to set up - may work well but need to complete setup
Bought a gateway to manage my existing 7 alarm setup in the house. Took some time to find instructions and download the app.Within the app, registration challenging - kept on refusing to accept my details with no error message. Inexplicably worked at the fourth or fifth attempt.Managed to register the gateway on the app, but the app won’t let you connect to an existing network, you need to do this via the web based installation “wizard”. I didn’t want the hassle of taking down 7 devices and reregistering them so went to the “wizard”Logged in, found my account, but then anything else resulted in “Oops - Something went wrong. Please refresh this page to continue”Tried another browser with the same result, so called the helpline.the lady who answered couldn’t help, referred it to someone else and came back to me an hour later saying they don’t know why this happened and I need to individually pair all 7 alarms again through the app.Awful experience so far. Need to wait until the dogs are out on a walk to repair all the devices as the noise distresses them

Lost all confidence in reliability and claims to battery life
I bought a bundle including gateway, several optical alarms, a thermal/heat, and a CO detector (May 2021). I later added another CO detector and optical alarm. Fitting the alarms and connecting them all together was fairly straightforward, and initially worked fine. Barely a year later, one of the smoke alarms started chirping to say that the battery was failing. That then stopped and didn't occur again. A couple of months ago, the CO detector in the kitchen started continually alarming. I brought the second CO detector in from the garage and sat next to the kitchen detector. The kitchen detector continued to alarm intermittently whilst the other was silent.Today the living room optical alarm has constantly been sounding whilst I was in the room, even after using a hoover to ensure the sensor didn't have a dust build up it continued to go off.I'm now about to rip the whole lot out and replace with something more reliable.Pros - easy to set up and link together. When one alarm goes off, all the other doCons - Zero confidence in a system that triggers all alarms on a false basis.07/03/24 - Less than three years on and that's the last of all of the FireAngel "10 year battery" bundled products that I bought have now died. What an investment!Have replaced with an alternative big brand that I can at least change the lithium batteries on.

Clever system - order and configure carefully
Ordered a few of these to meet the new Scotland homes requirements for Feb 2021. Fast delivery but soon realised that despite the images in the listing saying it is Alexa compatible (and the box side panel information), it is not compatible, unless you purchase the additional Gateway. The items all seemed to link as per the instructions, but the smoke alarms do not have any flashing LED's to show that they are linked and working (which is mentioned in the instructions), you have to assume they are all connected OK, or go through the link and unlink process until you work this out for yourself with plenty of beeps ringing in your ears. The smoke and CO2 alarms have flashing LEDs when configured. Tech support offered the advice (within 24 hours) to return the items if not happy about the non-flashing LEDs but a revision to the installation guide might reduce customer frustration.Testing all alarms (after a few mins) that are linked sets them all off, which is great, and the red LEDs flash at the same time. Each of our alarms are about 15 feet from each other., no false alarms. If you want Alexa or internet connectivity with their Fireangel App, you need to buy one Gateway as well for each installation, and configure it. You get a 5 year warrantee, and a 10 year battery life so a good few years peace of mind before you need to replace them.
