Great Utility Vacuum, Looks good in Garage
I ordered this Vacuum as part of my garage refurbishment project this summer. Iโm just now getting around to writing reviews of all the items I ordered. This by far is one of my favorite additions to my garage. The suction power of this Vacuum is robust. It is easily on par with the vacuums at the car washes and the like. The hose is a bit thinner, I donโt think you want a car wash vacuum hose at your house, where you going to Reel it? I refurbished my garage with all the Gladiator GarageWorks stuff, and this fits in so nicely with the rest of my garage that I built. Aesthetically, I couldn't be happier, and performance wise Iโm pleased. Itโs hard for me to decide if itโs loud or quiet. The garage has nothing to absorb sound like a houseโs carpet, so itโs not a low loud noise, but itโs a bit higher pitch than I expected. Overall, the noise doesn't bother me but I wouldn't consider it quiet. Anyways, you attach the 30 foot hose, and it can easily reach pretty much everywhere in my 2 car garage, which is good because spiders seems to enjoy rocking out the corners of my garage. Now however, they meet the vacuum! I use it weekly or bi-weekly, depending on how rotten my cars get. Right now it gets a bit of extra work out because my cars are bringing in a bit of dirt and salt, so when it dries up, I vacuum up the floor to keep my epoxy looking good. The wall mount it comes with works very well. For Full disclosure, I used my own mounting screws. I didn't like the shorter screws they shipped with the product, so I used more robust 2โ Steel screws that I used to mount my Gladiator Wall rails and made sure it was secured to the studs. I didn't want to risk this falling down. Especially since it gets heavier as stuff is vacuumed in. It comes with an accessories holder that can be put on the wall, and it comes with a wire hook thing to reel the hose around. The accessories holder is great, that hose hook, not so much. I ended up using the Gladiator Deep Hook, and it holds the hose MUCH better. Overall Iโm quite happy and give this 5 stars, I thought about lowering the rating to 4 stars because of the mounting screws / hose reel, but the product itself works really good and I suspect they sell it with those screws expecting theyโll hold just fine. It was just a trust issue with me. The hook, well, that was personal preference for me and if you had to, it would work. That being said the product itself still gets a good score.

Use a great car wash vacuum, without leaving home
I can't say enough good things about this vacuum. It is very similar to a commercial vacuum you would find outside a car wash. It offers very strong suction with a 30' hose. Very easy to mount. To empty you simply move 2 clips at the bottom of the unit and the bottom (with picked up items in it) drops out for easy dumping. We have owned this unit for 6 months. Recently we started to notice sparks coming out of the switch when it was flipped on. The unit still worked but the intermittent sparks bothered me. I was pleasantly surprised to find that Hoover offers a 3 year warranty (find that anywhere else). The manual referred me to Hoover's website which showed me what places I could take the vacuum to for the warranty work. There were several Hoover approved vacuum businesses in my area so I took it to one and they put on an upgraded switch in the vacuum. I got my vacuum back the next day-free of charge. The vacuum once again works great and if I have any more issues I still have 2.5 years left on the warranty. Highly recommend this product. update July 16,2010-I noticed some other reviews with the same issue with the switch failing/giving off sparks. One reviewer stated that Hoover wouldn't fix this. I would respectfully say that had she done this properly (go to the website and contact the local company that does Hoover warranty work) that it would have been 100% covered as was mine. I wouldn't let the switch issue keep me from buying this vacuum. If it comes up you have 3 years in which to get it taken care of. I am giving this 4 stars even though it performs as a 5 star product because of the problem with the switch. Update July 19, 2012-this Hoover vacuum is still going strong. Because it has proven itself over time, I have to finally bump it up to 5 stars. A great product and I'm glad I bought it.

Hoover L2310 GUV Vacuum
I was searching for while for a compact wall mounted vacuum for my garage and came across the Hoover. When the vac was received the 30 ft hose was missing. I called amazon and they had another on the way the next day. I am very happy with the service from amazon. I like the vac because it is easily wall mounted, it's not a heavy unit maybe a little on the tinny side but that is probably what would be desired if you have to empty the bucket from shoulder height. Mine is mounted close to the garage door so the hose can reach out to my driveway. The vac has good suction at the end of the 30 ft hose, it sucks up pine needles off auto carpet with ease. it is also pretty quiet for the suction it produces. For the price this is a good value and is am pretty satisfied with it. Update-- 7/29/13 I have had this vacuum for while now and found that the suction really dininishes when the filter gets a slight bit of dirt in it. It is reall a pia to keep cleaning to keep the suction up. Right out of the box it was good but after a while using it I wish I had bought something else. Update--- 6/17/15 Would not buy this again, suction is not that great. There are better garage vacs out there. Don't waste your money with this one. I am considering giving this one away and purchasing another brand. Poorly designed filter, clogs too quickly for a home garage environment. Not worth the effort to install. I hope this helps.

This thing sucks!
And I mean that in the most positive way possible. It's had a workout already, cleaning the garage, vehicles, screened porch, and most recently, demolition debris from a kitchen renovation project that we've just started. Keeping in mind one reviewer's comments that this cannot suck up chunks of wood, I picked up or swept any larger pieces by hand, and let the vacuum handle anything that would fit easily in its hose. Small bits of drywall up to roughly 1" were no problem, wood shavings, sawdust, etc. were easy. With the unit in the garage (mounted near the entry door) and the hose running into the house, it is quiet; a lot like using a central vac system. When working in the garage with it, the noise level is still very tolerable. When vacuuming off my workbench I realized that the noise of the air coming into the nozzle was louder than the sound of the vacuum system itself. With my old Shop Vac, I had to wear hearing protection. Not needed with this vac. I'll keep the shop vac for when I actually need to suck up water -- that's the only thing this unit can't do. Lots of attachments including a nice wide floor cleaner that is great for getting the finer construction debris and dust, and not filling up the (expensive!) vacuum bags of our regular Miele vacuum. I agree with the reviewers who stated that the unit gets quite warm. Not a problem in a garage but I might be concerned about installing it in a small closet, for example. If there is any downside to it, it's cleaning the filter. I've only had to do it once and I got dust all over the place, so I think it's just going to take me some time to figure out the right tricks. Finally, what a rare pleasure it is to unbox an item that was not made in China. The quality of material is striking, as soon as you start unpacking it. I'd like to see Amazon tag every item with its primary country of origin. I factor that into my buying decisions whenever possible.

This Vacuum Sucks!
In my constant quest to tweak my garage I decided to add a garage vacuum. My primary use was to clean my cars. However, I was sure I would find other uses for it. It arrived in a fairly large box but was easily unpacked. First impression was WOW! It's a very solid vacuum. The body is a fairly heavy gauge metal. There are to solid clips on the side that allow the bottom to be removed to be emptied. It as very easy to mount, however the screws provided were insufficient length to mount the vacuum to the wall studs or use the drywall anchors provided. Really? No big deal I have a huge box of screws in the garage. I placed it centrally in the back of our 3-car garage. The hose is easily long enough to reach the entire garage. It comes with a hose mount, a canvas holder for the vacuum ends and a collection of handy vacuum ends. It worked well to hold the tools and hose. The vacuum itself is very quite. I was quite impressed. The suction is plenty for cleaning the cars. Most of the debris is crud from our fir trees and dirt. I did evaualte a wet/dry vacuum as well but decided to stick with this dry-only vacuum as it looked like it would be lower maintenance. So overall yes I am super pleased with this purchase. I would easily but it again.

Very Good Product
This is a pretty decent garage vac . It has plenty of suction and it runs quietly . The attachments look kind of crummy , but they actually work very well . The thirty foot hose is a real plus . It too looks chincy , but it it's really pretty nice . Too small in diameter for a workshop maybe , but it's fine for the garage . The canister is easy to empty and replace , as is the filter . The mounting is simple but a person would be crazy to use the hardware that came with it . You'll pull it right off the wall and maybe into your car's paint or something . Two lag bolts into a stud are the way to go . Then the unit just lifts off the mount without tools , making it easy to service or use elsewhere . My only complaint is the power cord . It's five foot , but it comes out near the top , so over half of it's length is used up just getting the plug down below the unit . Then in the manual , they say never use an extension cord with this unit . If they mean that , it should have an eight to ten foot cord from the factory . I have a short , heavy extension cord on mine . It'll be fine . All in all , I'm very happy with this purchase .

Hose broke on first time use but seems to be a good vacuum otherwise
Over this weekend I hung this in my garage and vacuumed out my truck, worked great and had a nice hard suction on it. Next I started sucking up some saw dust in my garage and less than 5 minutes of sucking up the saw dust, the part of the handle where it allows it to swivel broke.. I fixed it by using some gorilla glue. All is well now but I'm just a little disappointed that it broke so quickly. The hose doesn't seem cheaply made nor does the unit it self. I don't think it will break again, at least not the part where the gorilla glue is, but if it does I'll just have to buy another hose I guess. Other than that I really like the unit itself and I believe I may get my father one for his garage as well. ***EDIT*** Decided to update my review since last time when the swivel end of the hose broke. The swivel part where I glued it, is holding up fine. I did have another issue with my hose as well since the review and that is a the little button/switch on the end up the hose that you can switch open which allows you to start and stop the suction on the hose. This button is used like if something got sucked up on the end of the hose thats obviously to large to go in, you could flip this switch open which would stop the suction, which would then let the item go.. I used mine quite of bit during every use and my little button broke off. With the button being broke off, I had no suction on my hose, so I had to glue it back on and (in the closed/off position obviously) Kind of sucks since thats the first time any vacuum has ever had that little feature which I'd grown to like. Anyway, As you can see in my original review, the swivel part of hose broke on the first use, but that part is still holding after using Gorilla Glue to fix it. I use it a few times a week to vacuum my shop floor and inside all my vehicles. One thing I wanted to add is that I can certainly attest to is its advertised "crush proof" hose. I've got an F250 Diesel truck that weighs in at 7,850 lbs on CAT certified scales and I've ran over the hose twice now without doing any damage to it. I thought for sure I had cracked it both times it happened but it was just fine. Though it's no fault of the vacuum since I knew this when I bought it but I wish it could do wet items and I'm surprised that Hoover doesn't seem to make a Wet and Dry model (that I see). Its the only reason I'm still holding on to my old noisy Shop-Vac.

Hoover GUV
This is the 3rd shop Vac I have purchased. My first was a Dayton wet dry that lasted about 20 Years, my 2nd was a Craftsman wall mount that lasted about 7 years. The look and feel for the Hoover is very nice. This unit looks like it will last a long time as well. It is by far the quietest shop vac I have owned. I wore hearing protection while using my last 2 units. The Hoover is so quite you, the air that is sucked in the hose is louder than the motor. I consider myself a frequent user of my shop vacs. From time to time I do wood working in the garage as well as vacuuming my cars on a regular basis. My kids play travel sports so our cars are always filled with dirt & rocks from the fields. We go boating and as a result get sand & water in our cars as well. This vac has no problems sucking these messes out of our cars. The long hose is awesome. It reaches all 3 cars in my garage with some length to spare. The power cord on this vacuum is very short. Luckily I had an outlet in the right spot. The instructions tell you not to use an extension cord. The vacuum also gets hot while in use so you'll want to make sure it is mounted in a good place. It is 95 out today & I did do a lot of vacuuming. I would say this vacuum is priced cheap when looking at how quite it is & how well it sucks dirt.
