What's the difference between the AE2 and the OE2 version?

If you have a iphone 5, or 5s they optimized the sound quality on the bose ae2, oe2 and IE2. My ae2 replaced my apple earbuds 2nd and my studios. I recommend if you have iphone 5 if not then try other phones that hAve it optimized

Is there any benefits to getting this over the AE2i?

The headphones are identical except for the cord with the volume controls and mic for Apple products. If you're unsure if you need the AE2i you can always just buy the AE2 and save yourself $30. Can these be plugged into audio on aircraft for movies.

Yes they are just like any other headphones, only this one has a mic for when you plug it in to your phone

Do they sound leak much?

I would say the opposite-I use them in office and even with loud music my colleagues don't hear a thing (tested it). Sound is directed to ears.
