I counted ten. Keep in mind the wax keeps them well entwined. Mine worked great for a bookbinding where I bound nine journals as gifts. I loved working with the waxed thread overr regular twine. Havee fun.

What ply is it please?

Hi Mitzie, I don't know the exact ply of this waxed thread. I would guess that it is at least 3 ply, maybe more. However, I have used the thread in many projects that I have made out of leather, and I have not had any problems with it breaking, or coming loose. I have ordered this thread twice, and 13 yard of thread goes alot farther than you would expect. Hope this helps.

What is the How is this for small basket such as pine needle weaving?weight or ply?

I just used mine to make a broom with cornbroom. It was so much better than twine and I made several brooms each wrapped in a different color. It being waxed is a big plus.
