Great value and excellent performance
Our entire family uses these based off their performance in our homes, as well as one of our family members that uses them at work. Great value and long-lasting, I recommend them to my friends. The value pack allows you to replace all the 9v in our smoke alarms at once, with enough left over to do it at the next solstice and crafts/other needs along the way.

Holds up in heavy duty use (heat, outdoors, long day etc) and in both home/work environment. Long time happy users!
First, important to note that there is likely some variation with some users experiences due to the source - different stock has different expiration date/ages, some may actually not be authentic, and some may have some other factor rendering them less than able to perform well. Make sure you always buy from a reputable seller, of course Amazon directly but if not from an authorized dealer or someone with a great history. Otherwise it is possible you may get poor quality ones or fakes etc. That being said - we have been buying these Procells (not just 9V, all the sizes of the Procell line) for many years now and have been consistently pleased with their performance. They are used in both home and work environments and with some being put to the test (10+ hours of consistent use, very hot outside weather environment and so on) and have had nothing but a great turnout with all of them. Pricing is slightly higher but they are somewhat easy to find from both Amazon and other SBA and similar sellers at a lower cost - however - worth every penny even if you're paying a premium. I believe the lowest we have paid for this box of $12 was around a dollar a battery, and the normal price looks to be around $15 which again is totally worth the little extra over some other brands. We will continue to buy the Procell line but definitely sticking to sold by Amazon just to make sure what we are getting is real and fresh :) Also, just to note - the thumbnail here shows the old red and black box, we got (5/2016) the new yellow/black box.

Reliable, High-Stamina Power for Active Guitar Electronics
These 9V batteries are great. They offer highly stable, long-lasting life, which is exactly what you need when powering active guitar preamps, onboard acoustics, or standard instrument pedals where sudden voltage drops can ruin your tone.

Fine even for non-professional use (home smoke detectors, etc)
Since we should be changing our smoke detector batteries soon (daylight saving time), I thought I'd throw my 2-cents into the mix. I do not use these Duracell Procell 9V for any electronics in a heavy-setting like a band or church services, but still thought that the price was good and I hated spending so much in the regular retail stores and felt these would be fine for the smoke/carbon monoxide detectors in the house. Again - if you use these heavily and plan on switching out for new batteries every few daysweeks/months - then you will have a fast turnover and the shelf-life won't matter so much; but for us home-users, please note that the date on the pack of batteries I received said 2016. That feels a little short to me (I believe another review mentions this too) as far as the 'good by' date. Compare that with packs of Duracell AAAs and AAs that I just bought from a big box store - the dates on those packs were 2022 and 2023, so I'm not sure if these Procells just have a shorter life in general or if the ones I received have been sitting in a warehouse for several years. I'm not saying this 2016 dates hurts their effectiveness (I've had no devices fail on me since these batteries were put in a few weeks ago), but just mentioning in case another homeowner sees these and thinks he/she can just save them on a shelf to use over the next 3-4 years.

Best Battery for Audio!!!
We have a wireless handheld microphone and an under the ear wireless headset microphone which run on 9volts. We tried Duracell regular, Energizer regular and Max, Ray-o-vac's top battery, generics and about anything else we could find. We use the sound equipment every Sunday for our three church services of about an hour each. The handheld has a total use of about 25 minutes each Sunday and the under-the-ear set used about 70 minutes. Both units had to have their batteries replaced every single Sunday. Sometimes the over-the-ear wouldn't make it through all three services. That is until we found the Duracell PROCELL. These little babies are great! We are averaging 2.5 - 3.5 Sundays with each battery. This is HUGE. Just to clarify, instead of replacing 9volt batteries every week, we are doing it every 3 weeks instead! These things are just great. I have no idea why they last so long with our electronics, but not one other brand/battery comes anywhere close. If you have electronics that run on 9-volt, do yourself a favor and try this out once - test it with your equipment. The price is great! The quality is great! What are you waiting for?

Last a Long Time and Don't Leak
The only thing I generally need replacement 9V batteries for are my Smoke Detectors. I have 12 foot ceilings and 9 detectors so I'm not anxious to replace them more than necessary. I know the "rule of thumb" is to replace the batteries every year on your birthday (easy to remember). But, at my age, I'm not wanting to be on a ladder much any more. So, what I have been doing is to wait for "one" of the detectors to start squealing the "low battery" tone. Then, I replace all 9 at the same time. I do use a marker to record the replacement date on each battery for whatever later reference. The last time I replaced these was about January 2017. They then have lasted about 3 1/2 years before the first one started "squealing". The "use before date" on the pullouts was "March 2019", about a year before this recent replacement. Therefore, I have been quite satisfied with the longevity of these batteries. Longevity is one thing but "leaking" is more important as it can damage, sometimes permanently, expensive devices. I have never had a Duracell Procell leak. I do use "cheaper" batteries, including Amazon Basic cells, in some things without trouble. I don't really have any quantitative data, but, over the years I would say that Duracells leaked less and "Bunny" batteries more. I'm sure manufactures are continually trying to improve battery performance, but, there's always cost-reduction efforts and "outsourcing" which can affect performance. When possible, I remove batteries from devices not in frequent use. Then, I tend to only use cheaper batteries in devices I really don't care too much about, like home Christmas displays.

Duracell Procell Alkaline Batteries, 9V, 12/Box
I was happy with the general transaction. My only comment is that the self life on the batteries is June 2024. A lot of the batteries I have ordered have a shelf life of 2028+ So it seems like it may be old stock ?
