Noticeable energy boost!
I’ve been using Jarrow Formulas for years, and this Ubiquinol is one of their best products. Since I started taking the 200 mg dose, I’ve noticed a real difference in my energy levels, especially in the afternoon.

A great CoQ10 Formula; you should take it every day
My physician recommended I take CoQ10 and my husband's did as well. So, after we each purchased our own products at our local health food store, I decided that I should do more research to find a high quality, consistent and yet affordable way for us both to take CoQ10 every day. I still really do not know how Ubiquinol factors into the formula but am very reassured that we are getting the highest potency and value on the market from this Jarrow product. We share the 120 size so it lasts us up to 2 months. We are extremely happy with this source and pricing. I believe it has really helped control my periodontal problems! Recently, my husband's heart doctor confirmed this is a supplement that we need as we age. We have each been using CoQ10 from Jarrow for almost two years. The following is an exact quote from WebMD...."Your body makes CoQ10, and your cells use it to produce energy your body needs for cell growth and maintenance. It also functions as an antioxidant, which protects the body from damage caused by harmful molecules." Anyway, until the science comes in, we both figure it can not hurt.

To counteract a 2 star rating...
I had to write a review of this with five stars to counter a highly rated 2 star review from RWM with over 600 helpful votes. "I rated Jarrow Formulas QH-Absorb two stars because it contains soy, GMOs, and ascorbyl palmitate." Drives me nuts reading supposedly expert reviews that contain a lot of information that has nothing to do with the product. True enough, if you want a supplement that doesn't have soy, is specifically non-GMO and doesn't contain ascorbyl palmitate, there are plenty out there that don't contain these ingredients so you can look for those. The fact that these are clearly listed doesn't make the product worse or merit a lower rating, however. I'm allergic to soy and this product contains soy lecithin. My doctor has told me that it's not a major deal for me to avoid soy based lecithin because so much of the soy protein is removed during processing that there's almost none left to trigger my allergy. Soy based lecithin is in almost everything, from cooking sprays to make up to all kinds of foods, so it's pretty difficult to avoid it in the first place. I should point out also that soy based lecithin is a popular supplement for a lot of different reasons and if this were sold in a store you'd likely find a lecithin supplement with the exact same ingredient not far from this bottle. It doesn't bother me at all that this is in this product, but it would be nice if they listed how much. You have to decide for yourself if non GMO is important to you. If you've decided to eliminate genetically modified organisms (the GMO part of non GMO) from your diet, I applaud you. But quite frankly I couldn't care less if this supplement comes from genetic modifications and there's data that swings both ways on whether or not non GMO is important. Quite frankly I'd rather know that this was certified organic rather than non GMO because there's tons of non GMO foods with pesticides, hexane and other pollutants because they aren't certified organic. Finally ascorbyl palmitate; another healthy supplement that would be nice if they would list how much is in this bottle. Ascorbyl palmitate is the fat soluble version of Vitamin C, very often seen as a Vitamin C Ester supplement. Why anyone would down rate a product for containing vitamin C I don't know, but ok. You're probably used to seeing vitamin C listed as ascorbic acid, which is the water soluble version. Ascorbic acid can be passed quickly out of the system through urination without being fully absorbed. Ascorbyl palmitate is generally considered better because it is absorbed at the cellular level and then converted to ascorbic acid. The ester is more expensive than the acid and generally harder to find but its still out there. So don't believe the supposed expertise level of reviewers, and quite frankly don't believe me either. Take five minutes to Google soy based lecithin, non GMO versus organic, and ascorbyl palmitate before you take it for granted that these ingredients are bad. I think you'll be surprised at what you find. My only issue with this particular product is that it would be nice to know how much of each ingredient is included.

Summertime trick for defusing melted/fused pills
I like the quality of this product and the size of the caps. The problem, as others have noted, is that during the warmer months, the soft gel caps can fuse together into one mass inside the jar. I received my package directly on delivery and it was still fused, so the fusion took place in transit. Note that I read that ubiquinol is not ruined by the relatively low amount of heat that is encountered in a transit situation, so try this: Cut open the bottle and remove the clumped mass of pills. Place into the freezer for about 10-12 min [long enough to freeze the outside of the cap, but not the inside which does not need to be frozen for this to work]. Take the cooled down mass and roll it around in your hand gently popping off the pills into a bowl as they separate. Repeat until the last pill is free [you only need to place smaller bits back in freezer for about 3-5 mins just to get the outside of the cap cold and hardened]. I know this sounds ridiculous, but it worked for me and took very little time while doing other things in the kitchen. You might also manage this without cutting the jar open by just using your finger to separate the caps depending on the level of fusion. [To avoid some of the more severe and possibly irreversible fusion, make sure you order in a way that the package won't be sitting out in your mailbox or outside your door during the summer months]. Good luck!

It's a miracle supplement
I had been taking another brand of Ubiquinol for 10 years. I got food poisoning in 2019 which lasted 2 months and had to stop taking Ubiquinol. I didn't resume taking Ubiquinol because I didn't think it was necessary and I started having strong rapid heart beats at night and couldn't sleep. This went on for months and I didn't connect them to the absence of Ubiquinol. I reported this to my cardiologist who ran every test in the book and I wore several heart monitors but they couldn't find any reason for these pounding heart beats. I had resumed Ubiquinol a couple of days before the tests but the tests came up negative. Only one rapid heart beat on the graph showed up but then nothing and I wore one monitor for weeks. It's only Now I know, it was the Ubiquinol reaching the desired level in my system to stop the rapid heart beats. A few days before I went to the doctor, I bought Jarrow Formulas Ubiquinol QH-Absorb, High Absorption/Enhanced Stability at Amazon. So, I had taken a couple of them before I wore the lst heart monitor and that is why there was only 1 irregular heart beat on the graph. Every other test showed normal heart beats. I haven't seen my cardiologist since Covid and he probably won't believe that all it took was taking Ubiquinol to stop these rapid heart beats. To prove it, I accidently ran out 6 months later and while waiting for a bottle to come from Amazon, the rapid heart beats returned and once I started re-taking it, no more rapid heart beats. That proved to me, that those rapid heart beats are the absence of Ubiquinol.

Helped my resistant hypertension!
I'm 47 and work in the health care field and have been taking 4 simultaneous bp medicines for resistant hypertension for over 15 years. A little over a year ago, I developed tinnitus which I presumed to be a side effect of one or more of the medicines I was taking, and have been through an extensive workup to find out whether I have secondary hypertension and/or whether my drug regimen could be simplified. While researching tinnitus treatment, I came across an article that linked treating tinnitus in those with low CoQ10 levels with possible causes of low CoQ10 including medications like beta blockers and statins, as well as aging and other causes. I've been on beta blockers for over 15 years. A couple weeks after starting Ubiquinol, I noticed my blood pressure was so much better (even with nighttime blood pressure spikes) that I was able to discontinue my calcium channel blocker. I also noticed that I was able to do my daily swimming workouts for significantly longer distances without muscle aches (currently, swimming 1 mile nonstop). A month later, I was able (or rather needed to) stop my beta blocker also because my pulse dropped into the high 40's/min and my bp fell to the 90/60 range. Please note that 6 months ago, I found that eating watermelon (contains a high concentration of the amino acid L-citrulline which, when metabolized, produces nitric oxide) also helped my bp and I have been eating that every day since. However, I had a profound bp drop when adding Ubiquinol. I do highly recommend discussing with your health care professional if you consider taking CoQ10/Ubiquinol and only decrease or stop taking your meds under his or her direction. In addition he/she may wish to check your CoQ10 blood level before starting the supplement.

Will always take this
To be honest i have no idea if these things work or not, but since undergoing PTCA in March 2013, i started taking some forms of Co-Q10 from different brands until this brand of Ubiquinol around June 2013 with other heart supplements since i could not tolerate any types of Statin including Red Yeast Rice without debilitating muscle pain. I was doing fine but started experiencing chest pain again on exertion 6 months after my procedure which got worst from November 2014 - February 2015 with severe chest pain and had to depend on Nitro practically daily in order to be able to walk to the public transportation system in NYC for work. Had a nuclear stress test that was negative in April 2014. But since February 2015, i stopped taking all other heart supplements like D-Ribose, Niacin, L-Carnitine, Omega 3 others, but remained only on Ubiquinol and slowly, i saw that i didn't need to use the Nitro anymore and my excercise tolerance increased to the point of being able to once again use my Treadmill. I don't know what it was, but i'm glad i didn't drop dead in the subway in NYC one morning and i think this Ubiquinol helped me get to where i am on top of being stubborn about not giving up on excercise tolerance. Doctors were telling me to take it easy, essentially remaining immobile, could not take a walk slowly even a block without severe chest pain and if i had given up and stayed glued to my couch poping Nitro daily, i don't think my heart muscles could have gotten used to working again, and for some reason, my gut instinct was telling me to dump the other supplements but not this one. I don't know why but i always go with my gut instinct and i slowly but surely saw the improvement. I'm not saying that the other supplements do not work, simply that maybe they were not needed by my system and that i may have over done it too.
